You might be right, though to my eye, the pace seemed pretty even, albeit slow, the first 6-800. Sectionals will tell more.
I didn't hear Tony suggest they'd suddenly slowed the pace, just that they'd got away with a slow pace.

It's in accord with the penalty guidelines.

If you take FO, you get the price you fixed at; if you take NZ tote price, you get the tote price.

So, is it NZ tote only? Or can you say do best tote? Either way that is then SP which I'm still unclear but thought was excluded.

R9 Cheval de Foudre 50 win TOTE

I thought this had to be fixed odds at time of bet, not tote?

The rule remains unclear to me. Maybe I'm a bit slow. Can we post bets at SP as we could in Barry's challenge? Is that considered declaring a taken FO price?

Other betting agencies ARE OK ..but when you post FO bet at (say) $7 and it ends up blowing out to $10, well in my Comp, with my prize and my work involving 37 days of updates from 15+ tipsters you get the return you took the bet at. Simple. Fair to all participants (many of whom do not use 'other agencies'. Easier on poor Max..
End of story.
MM
Pete took the bet for a return of $7 or SOP, whichever was higher. In this case, the SOP of $10 was higher. That seems to comply with your rule as far as I can see Max.

Not at all, long way to go. In fact Curious did better on the first day of the last challenge, collecting 1200, but ended up with a 340 loss
'Twas 1000 actually

Don't know who Curious is but I think he has just destroyed this comp.🤪
I flew the gates in Barry's challenge too, steadily drifted and had no finish. 36 furlongs to go. Staying power required!

Not sure why we have 2 Maxi's $100 challenge threads here. I thought you were moving the active one to the comps forum Hesi?

I picked on this, when you actually made a comment a few months ago, that the 2020 Racing Act re-write cleared up that ownership rests with NZTR.
I could be wrong in my recollection, but you usually have a good knowledge of such matters, so that is why I deferred to it
It's only on dissolution. They do not own the assets of any active club and can not force dissolution unless the club is no longer racing, whether that be on their own course or elsewhere. The code must also consider apportionment of any surplus funds to reflect any community interest in the assets. The latter, I suspect could turn into lengthy shit fights if not well handled. NZTR can not just take everything and do what they like with it.
24 Transfer of assets on dissolution of club
(1)
This section applies if a racing club is dissolved by any means (including under section 36(3)).
(2)
Subject to section 25, the assets of the racing club remaining after all creditors’ claims on the club have been satisfied vest in the racing code with which the club was registered.
(3)
The code must consider whether any action (for example, a payment) is warranted to recognise the community interest (if any) in any racing venue or venues of the racing club that are vested in the code.

Same as horse training Freda, but significant numbers in NZ are not even close to customer service or professionalism.
Yes and this is a small, you might say trivial, thing. However it's all part of the image of our product that we present to the world and this one's an easy fix. I don't hear other sports commentators mispronouncing names.

The French was just the cited example. I don't really care if it's French, Mandarin or Swahili. It is not a hard job to find out if you don't know. 10 seconds
-
I well remember Reon walking around the back parade ring at Riccarton talking to handlers, owners and trainers about just that and making notes in his book. True professional. Blaming those that name the horses is just laziness.
-
If he doesn't know how to pronounce French then it's not hard to ask someone who does. I'm sure he knows dozens of people who do. He does not need to find the owner or trainer to do that.

Oh mate, no one fucking cares, if you call a horse (or a kid) a stupid name then it’s your job (trainers) to inform George, otherwise expect it to be called all sorts of shit.
By & large the commentators do a great job in NZ, esp when it comes to non English horse names.
I don't agree. A little effort to pronounce names correctly, whatever language, seems like basic professionalism to me.

Haven't spotted a Leg Up this week. Did I miss it somewhere?

Maxi said above that if the financial assistance was declined, it would be returned to donors pro rata. I don't see how you can gift it to someone that donors didn't donate it for, without their consent.

Boring replays and not even a halfway interesting interview.
