  9. Yep, my mistake Rusty. Apologies for that.
  10. It really is tragic, and words are insufficient to express the sadness at this time.

  13. Me too Rees. I saw him in Dunedin, when he toured around the country, after coming back from America. Everything is being done at the highest level, to ensure he can be relocated, and let us be patient in the knowledge of this.
  14. For sure Happy. Just bury the history, and money will cover up the mistakes that have been made.
  15. Indeed Rusty, and more money to be spent by the ailing ATC going to court.
  16. Here is the latest news. It makes you shake your head in disbelief really!!! https://harnesslink.com/new-zealand/court-will-decide-over-exhumation-of-superstar-cardigan-bay/
  17. Race 1: 10. Race 2: 2. Race 3: 2. Race 4: 1 Race 5: 12. Thanks.
  18. Something that the "Powers of B' either haven't cottoned too, or have put in the too hard basket, is they need us as Punters, and owners, but we actually don't need them, as we can use our discretionary dollar on other things.
  19. Race 1: 2. Race 2: 7. Race 3: 13. Race 4: 9. Race 5: 6. Thanks.
  20. Totally agree Rees. The main purpose of a racecourse is to hold race meetings. Yes, I know corporate functions etc., are the norm these days, but there are at other events as well, like the Rugby, and Rugby League, where the focus remains on the main event. Those two sports have ongoing action in segments of 40 or 45 minutes at a time, so people are entertained for those periods, whereas racing has a race, half an hour or so break, and then the next one, and so on. I am used to this format, having been brought with that, and would be happy to see a race, go down to the parade ring, then to the birdcage top see the jockeys board their horses, and watch their preliminaries, and then the race itself. It is a different world today, and accepting change is hard for some people, but it just the fact, society has changed, for the good, and not so good, and that is the path that all of us have to negotiate in our own individual way.
  21. Too true Turny, as many of our friends and acquaintances made over the years, who did the same as us, are not around today to enjoy it. As I said, in my earlier post, I am thankful.
  22. I am so thankful that the savings that I was encouraged to start at primary school, and beyond, has given me, in the latter part of my life, the opportunity, which I sometimes feel uneasy about, to enjoy little treats, and pleasures, that I have in my time remaining, how ever long that maybe.
  23. I wont write to the club, as I wasn't there personally, but totally believe the feedback that has been expressed on here. A thought I had in relation to my suggestion of the pre race meeting entertainment, and people watching that, and leaving, how about the reverse then? If the entertainment is after the race meeting, how about having food and drinks elsewhere, and coming to race course when the races are finished? I am picking after the races are over, probably a third of the people will go home, leaving more room for the party goers to stretch out. Of course, there is still a need to up number of serving outlets, and renew the interest in the event, and perhaps encourage some who have been disappointed last week.
  24. Sounds great Turny. I don't think we have the population, and economic climate at the moment, for many people to be splashing out on flash nights out. We are having schools supplying breakfasts, and lunches for children to ensure they are not hungry. It is the reality of life these days.
