  1. G'Day Karrots, robert, NZ. Sorry if I have missed something. (pretty big week Aus gallops this week) BUT Why are Sundees Son and Muscle Mountain NOT in the NZ trotting FFA at 100k ???? Might be answered there already but i missed it. $100,000 races don't go everyday , and the 2 best trotters in the Nation missing ??? what is going on ?
  2. anyone Chip in where-ever you see something interesting racing . Craigos1 spotted MACH DA VINCI in the driving rain last Sat even!!! just above lol....... You are doing great job !! Champion filly 'Bettor Twist' you have spotted this week , am sure of big interest to many in NZ . That Nathan Purdon Group 1 quinella (Amazing Dream + Spellbound) was top notch 'supreme' last week too. lots of kiwis getting the 'Job' done !!! how good is it ?
  3. Sorry to butt in your comment to Happy S. I think my reasoning is sound. There are not that many 3200m races year to year. I guess the Easter Cup still may be as well. And the OPEN Class horses seem to Overall hold their form year to year , because they are the good ones. ALL Oz and NZ 'top' horses through the years , were great through their whole career. Verry Elleegant I backed last Tuesday in MC , mainly based on her HUGE run (7th) in last years Melbourne Cup , at track and distance. That paid off well. thankfully. With NZ Cup SELF ASSURED , this time last year , was Sensational in 3.55.2 . very quick, very good, and seems to be going well lately too if you like current form. (I'm still taking 9-1 Sportsbet on the coming Interdominion, very nice !!!! )
  4. Bad to The Bone was about 7 lengths behind Copy That in 3200m Auckland Cup so seems about right. What odds do you think they should give in the Cup next week Happy? (or anyone) No odds up here on TAB. although they do have the DOMINION market up today Qld, with SundeesSon $1.80 and MuscleMountain $3.20. I guess they don't know what to do with the Nz Cup field lol... or want nothing to do with it. Lightning Blue market would be : SELF ASSURED @ even money , ClassieBrigade + Copy That both 5-1, PembrookPlayboy + SCArden both 10-1 HenryHubert + Laver + Terry all at 30-1 , the other 7 all 100-1+
  5. Henry is missing away a little from the stands lately. He did finish a solid finishing 4th last years Cup about 3 lengths ahead of Classie Brigade, but well behind the three Allstars horses trifecta. You can't afford to hop, skip and jump before pacing, at the 3.55-3.57 speed they go in the Cup these days. Classie Brigade with the brilliant standing start manners seems a better bet.
  6. That would be great Karrots. COPY THAT involved early, deserving a bit better luck than the last NZ Cup with bad gettaway, and then the 3200m Auckland Cup New-years Eve , he sat parked out without cover, against the 'ALLstars train' for the last lap and stuck on well for third to Amazing Dream. She's not here now, so is he the Winner????
  7. This is the key to the race , will they work togeather a little to beat Mark and Nat when they circle round. John Dunn has some stable help to aid him. Why not take a leaf out of the Allstars Brilliant Teamwork last NZ CUP. copy and Paste?
  8. Well that is great in a way. sort of like a 5m handicap at least , and gives the Whole Lot a Chance now . Will be very tactical. After the 3.55.2 fast time 'demolition' job by SELF ASSURED last year off the front row, He deserved a 10m handicap to even things up a bit. So 5m will just have to do in that case, (since they don't want to handicap the poor buggers anymore). And with No Ashley Locaz and Spankem stablemates giving him (Mark and SA) an 'easy' lead either (like last year,) there is to be No easy ALLstars trifecta like 2020 either. excellent . Should be a good willing contest.? Mr Mango putting the 'good' Interdominion driver on these days is picking up a race or two with SouthCoast Arden (jewels in Winter) , so will he get the ultimate reward in November ????
  9. Race 1: 1 - 3 - 10 Race 2: 4 - 8 -10 Race 3: 3 - 4 - 6 Race 4: 4 - 5 - 6 Race 5: 4 - 7 - 12 Race 6: 1 - 4 - 5 Race 7: 2 - 4 - 21 Race 8: 2 - 10 - 11 Race 9: 5 - 6 - 13 Race 10: 5 - 10 - 14 Double-Up Jockey: Jye McNeill
  10. Well think you have a win in the early hours of Wednesday coming up. The swedes Malmo, who Chelsea knocked off 4-zip in the home game. doubt the away game should worry them too much. Mason Mount going extra well at the moment.
  11. Well guess Spurs had their moment in time to win something, the 'Champions League' 2 years ago , but Mohamed the Egyptian, put them to the 'sword' , as he is still doing every week now. Tell your brother Chelsea is where it's at , and we are taking GLORY this season again !!!!!! (hopefully lol)
  12. Yes !! Leicester only stayed up by the skin of their teeth , and won the Title next season, 5 years ago. Vardy was playing so well and I liked the team structure. Kante doing well for Chelsea now too. (man of the match Champions League final) Only been here a couple of weeks so didn't know about your Chelsea support. You would of had a blast with me in May this year, as the Champions League winner !! son Matt was distressed lol.... as Man City supporter. excellent !! lol... Love wearing my Chelsea (or Brisbane Lions gear) and supporting the harness racing. Great job !! by you today tipping.
  13. only just !! my son is a die-hard Leeds supporter , so cheer them for him . He loves Man City too !!!! He came 'home' to sleep over and try and beat my team CHELSEA in the Champions League Final and ended up hiding under the Blanket in the lounge as the mighty Blues took Victory !! . I took him to Sydney as I won a comp getting accomadation and a driver from airport, when Chelsea came out here Winter 2015 as the EPL champions, and they beat Syd United 1-0 I have back up team of Leicester City Foxes too. even had a dollar on them when they won the very next season. Hard to get a 1000-1 shot too. (unless you are Dancing Show at Kaikoura today lol...) copy of winning ticket in photo.
  14. LEEDS UNITED 2 v NORWICH CITY 1 ............. wahoo !!!!!
  15. Terry went great , although given ZERO hope of winning by the shocking lack-lustre drive. Check this out Karrots and Nz harness officials. !!!!!! This photo shows how Kaikoura treated liked a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY.????? No dollars for NZ harness racing spent in Australia today. Another Nail in NZ coffin of HRNZ. (sadly) Abandoned ??? hahah
  16. Well the Aus TAB and Sportsbet aren't liking it one bit. Might not be able to fit 16 races on the frame? . QLD TAB only betting first '4' races only Kaikoura. SportsBet (a huge International betting company has USA , Sweden and France trots on the books today/tonight but ZERO for New Zealand. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. Very sad situation. major betting companies are just showing Cobram, Goulbourn, GlobeDerby,Pinjarra, terang and Yarra Valley trots today.>>> NZ might as well not even exist. disgraceful.
  17. That is HEAVY rain. We have these very quick tropical burst concentrated storm cells in Brisbane/Gold Coast throughout the Spring and Summer. I live exactly 10km from Albion Park and didn't even get a drop. dead true. Commentator could barely make them out for this race. What a good horse that MACH DA VINCI is ! The group 1 winner in this race ran last , unable to match him . Also Smart former Nz horse 'LL COOL J ' of Herlihys was only 4th. He has 8 wins from 15 QLD too. Photo shows Mach Da Vinci clearing out to win by 6 lengths as they turn for home in the torrential downpour.
  18. The great NZ driver ANTHONY BUTT after the Group 1 win with Amazing Dream last night ,also has Won the prestigious G1 Victoria trotters Derby today . Ant's was driving nz bred 'Kyvalley Hotspur' (by Muscle Hill) to victory for ex-pat kiwi trainer BRENT LILLEY. Brent (a fabulous trainer of trotters) quinellaed the Derby. ! quite an achievement . with Aldebaran Zues driven by Chris Alford. 3rd Place in the Derby, went to the NZ trotter who ran 2nd in the Cambridge Jewels named 'Mufasa Metro'. A great Nz flavour right through the trifecta.
  19. Takes the 'Queen of the Pacific ' Group 1 last night, and thoroughly deserved. In the past year Amazing Dream has taken Aucklands biggest race the Auckland Cup, plus 2 more Group 1's in Brisbane in the winter beating Copy That there as well, and on to Melbourne for more Group 1 glory. What a absolute Star of the track. 'Tim's a Trooper' sent down from QLD for that Group 1 win, so that was nice to see for Grant Dixon. upsetting the 2 very quick 'Ultimate' stablemates of Jarrod Alchin. Alchin won the 150k fillies final with 'Madrid' ,to make up for the 2nd and 3rd in the boys anyway. 'Madrid 'driven by a junior driver Cameron Hart .great to see the youngsters mixing it with the big boys like McCarthy Stable every race now. Kiwi lad Jack Trainor also taking out a Group 1 3 year old final last night, and young junior drivers Jack Callaghan and Joshua Gallagher getting heaps of drives and both placed in the GROUP 1 FFA . Jack drove 'Alta Orlando' for the Dunn's. Don't worry about LINE UP karrots. never saw daylight with 'worse drive of the night award' to old Binskin. Any driver I mentioned already would of done way better. So Menangle the best place in Aus or NZ , giving the junior drivers a go , at all levels of racing , and they are right in the money. McCarthy not so dominant now. Just love seeing the young drivers getting established, like Dexter and Anthony Butt both had the opportunity to do in NZ , and look what they are doing now !!!! brilliant.
  20. Young Queensland lass doing the steering Happy. Is making all the difference 😄
  21. Here is LINE UP in the Group 1 Big Mile on Saturday night Menangle. DUNN"S owned horse ALTA ORLANDO , a grand campaigner , is here too. Maybe LINE UP at 12-1 odd s can 'smoke ' the $1.80 fav Expensive Ego ???? well worth a look .>> here's the field ( 5 other ex-pat nzers as well) Trainer Other Eng. 22. Here's an interesting Kiwi horse . Back after a year and half out and winning the Vic Derby and the NSW Derby as a three yearold. Was Beating Copy That and Bad to the Bone in NZ 2 years ago at Auckland, and 3rd in the Sires Stakes final to One Change and Copy That. This trial in 1.50. 3 seriously ?? 1.50 in a trial ? the world is going mad . 3rd horse here 8 lengths behind named ANNTONIA has won 8 out of 11 this year and hot fav tomorrow night too R7. and should be winning. 1 LINE UP NZ Fr1 1 Darren Binskin Darren Binskin BAY HORSE 4 by BETTORS DELIGHT USA out of BEACH PARADE (NZ) (BEACH TOWEL USA) Owner(s): E & M Stride Breeder(s): Woodlands Stud Ltd 2 EXPENSIVE EGO Fr5 6 Belinda McCarthy Luke McCarthy NK 3 ANNTONIA Fr2 2 David Thorn Jack Trainor 25.30 4 ZEUSS BROMAC NZ Fr3 4 Paul Fitzpatrick Gavin Fitzpatrick 30.00 5 PAY ME SAM Fr4 5 Paul Fitzpatrick Sean Grayling 36.60 Scratchings BETTOR ROBYN (LATE) 3 Track Rating: GOOD Gross Time: 1:50:3 Mile Rate: 1:50:3 First Quarter: 27.1 Second Quarter: 28.6 Third Quarter: 28.4 Fourth Quarter: 26.2 Margins: NK x 24.5m
  23. Yeah those races only take a couple of minutes to watch . all done in 5 minutes. Netflix full of brutal stuff . I like more tame things. squids = no thanks. THE AGE OF ADALINE is a good one that you would enjoy karrots . If you are looking for something Netflix. Quite an entertaining story.
  24. I think Tony would of driven in a lot less races and won a few higher quality ones over the 40 years. Kerryn training way out in country Victoria, With a lot more day meetings available to drive at. but you still have to win em'. Still a wonderful feat to be the first Lady driver ever to win the Nz Cup. Tony has three of those I believe. Interestingly don't think either have won the Interdominion pacing Grand Final. ( My rated Absolute Pinnacle of Success) where Natalie R has gone totally mad, and won a stack of them, including the last one run at Auckland end of 2019. Tony winning quite a few with the Trotters though , being the driver for his brother's in law Mark and Barry for a long time . DIAMOND FIELD, PRIDE OF PETITE, BUSTER HANOVER all winning trot Interdom's for Tony driving. Some more homework for Karrots too lol, google the 1997 Interdominion trot where Tony came from 'last' to win by a snotter from the late amazing trainer of trotters Graeme Lang (the Scotch Notch man) and a 1/2 head to Kerryn Manning running third on her trotter. AMAZING and CLOSEST finish ever !!!
  25. Of course , for Victorian Kerryn Manning. well spotted Pete.!!!!! A thorn in the side of ALLStars with a former Allstars trained horse. Mark and Nat would of had the last 7 Nz Cups otherwise. SMOLDA beaten narrowly by Arden Rooney, after galloping and losing 50m odd , made it all the more painful for them. Fun-fact 2 today . Kerryn Manning passed the 4000 winners driven marker, this year !! what an amazing achievement>>>> to put that in perspective the great nz Tony Herlihy MNZM has about 3500 driving winners
