  1. Mustelid Maximus selects ...The Brown Fox his-self, ...come on down, Graeme
  2. crikey! First the Too Farts and now the Bo De Gas ...what have you all been eating??
  3. Great name SNM ..though perhaps even better if more specifically in your team;s favour ...eg Five Zip To Us LOL
  4. PJ - I would prefer to consult with team-mates before lodging the team name - is that OK? Happy to have 'working title' for now eg The Mustelidians and post comp name before Sat
  5. was thinking of her the other day when the Saudis announced the $20M race...mebbe Debbie on the phone to Chris saying "what do you think, if she's safely in foal to I Am Invincible, we could snaffle a quick $10M...
  6. FWIW, I'm with Mardi on this ....Waller/Winx situation completely different from Cooksley and a no-note Ruakaka meeting. BUT if Cooksley was the sole trainer of Winx, I'd expect him to front at some stage or delegate a stable rep ... common sense should prevail.
  7. Come on, Pete, you posted recently that you got no credit when captaining the triumphant Blue Kats ..you can't win if you're not in!!
  8. "Drunk stoat in the middle of the road, singing to high heaven" Reminds me of Cousin Boris ...alas, he let the drink get to him and perished one foggy winter's night ...very messy. RIP Boris. Our head-to-head in the Spring comp will now have some extra spice, Ashoka. My cunning plan is to render useless that nasty, scary-sounding contraption whose name I can hardly pronounce! Looking forward to that day!
  9. to jog a memory or two ...Spring TransTasman Comp 2018 teams PIXIES Rex {mrzim} Punter Pete Mardy Gary PJ 2FAST2GOOD Wrinkles Howie Geoff Graeme Brett WINE RACKS Rees Keryn Jill Ashoka Tom ALCOHOL FREE Ian Maria Richie Steve Jack GRIM REAPERS Ghost Hesi Weasel Rob Maurice THE REDS Jamison The Crucible Mo Salah Gordy UTOPIAN SEERS Steve P Ray Rex Jason Judy THE STIPES Robert Jasper Des The Chief Mooncoin BLUE KATS Heather Pete Milo Sharne Gee ..and the winner was ...Princess Sharne and her Blue Kats ... 0 2FAST2GOOD $698.00 5 THE BLUE KATS $1448.60 All 2Fast2Good hopes rested on the Tony McEvoy-trained Mintha who barely raised a gallop as her longshot stablemate triumphed landing a whopping best bet for Sharne to down Graeme and make the Blue Kat 5-zip victory a down trou for The 2Fast2Goods. Sharne was Match Star. 98.40 Brett 194.60 Pete 173.00 Howie 245.40 Heather 53.40 Geoff 54.00 Gee 107.20 Wrinkles 136.60 Milo 266.00 Graeme 818.00 Sharne
  10. Pardon me, but ...to which two ferrets do you refer??
  11. Tremendous match to finish a very even comp. Thanks and commiserations to Betty and her Beauts who went very close in a titanic struggle. Thanks to my teammates the Koolest of Kats, excellent tipsters throughout a tough winter. And thanks again PJ (and John in the semifinal) for all your work. Pop goes the Moet! MM
  12. my pick for 'Lay of the Day then !!! Cant re,member a match with all 5 H2H matches so close
  13. the thought did cross my mind, too..Kats, mustelids, foxes everywhere ...and beavers are so good in the wet! Everyone dodged a bullet
  14. minor amendment pse PJ...Mrs W gives me the suggestive loox ..
  15. hoping NOT to be quoting that last line tonight. I prefer: "Moet, Moet, wherefore art thou, Moet?"
  16. Morning all, from Bedrock ...weather fine, tracks dodgy .. captain Mustelid has penned an inspirational speech for the Grand Final ... here are the highlights ... "And so, my Koolest of Kats, ask not what your fellow felines can do for you, but what you can do for your fellow felines .." "once more, unto the breach, dear Kats, once more." Tis my honour and privilege to have served the Fab Four through the deepest darkest days of Winter. NOW LET'S DO IT TO THEM BEFORE THEY DO IT TO US! Have a beaut afternoon, Maureen ...and as always many many thanks to PJ for scores and updates. 1=13,14 2=10,19 3=1,2 bb 4=2,8 5=1,4 6=2,4 7=3,5 8=4,5 9=3,4 10=1,2 bb
  17. Happy to offer the Mustelid as a captain again, but not offended if over-subscribed and you boot me into touch ..hope this time Howie is in the mix!! The last Spring Comp was a ripper!
  18. That did not work out well for Murless or Mustelid Maximus, but may just lull the Beauts of Betty into a false sense of security.
  19. Cheers for the heads-up, Hesi, they're taking their wet weather gear to Stoatesville, keep an eye out for em please and for Gawd's sake leave the shotgun in the broom cupboard!
  20. There are no 'selection formula tweaking' meetings for the KKs ...however they have all been instructed to get a good night's sleep, and to stay off the plonk for at least 24 minutes before selecting their winners. Mrs W has, for the second time in a year, been gently cajoled into taking the little Weasels on an overnight outing (not to Farmer Brown's Chicken Farm..(they're off to see their cousins the Ferrets for fun and games in Stoatesville, West Auckland) . Leaving Mustelid Maximus blissfully alone, with the Moet quietly chilling, just in case things go very very well ....
  21. Right ..I'm going to scare the wits outta the Beauts of Betty and put fear into their hearts by labelling a winner today at Warrnambool..,R8 Murless
  22. This is what happened when the two sides met in the Round Robin. Result went to the wire but them Beauts had their nostrils in front when it mattered. 2 KOOL KATS (6th) $1047.00 1 point 3 BETTY'S BEAUTS (8th) $988.40 2 points None of the Kats 3 chances to win it back in the last yelped however Jen bagged the final winner with a BB to take the Kats' aggregate past that of their opponents to earn a bonus point. So the Beauts held on for an important win . Maureen was their MVP while Graeme - with 6 winners including 3 quinellas - was an impressive Man of the Match. No bonus points were earned. 79.00 Maximus 148.00 Betty 404.00 Graeme 148.00 Isaac 301.00 Jen 42.00 Claire 82.00 Rob 346.20 Maureen 181.00 Sharne 294.20 Damion
  23. Still a bit perplexed at what unfolded today, pretty average tipping by all four teams (?) on a tough day at the office. KKs got a pretty good start, mostly from Rob and Graeme but in the last 5 races we Kats added only $69.00 to the team total. Mercifully, the Weavers were finding it just as hard to score a goal, with the exception of Maurice. So thanks Hesi and Weavers team, commiserations ..and congrats also to Betty's Beauts for making the Final. Looking forward to next weekend already. Thanks also to John for a top job filling the breech(es??) of PJ ...having the race-by-race scenarios and updates posted through the afternoon is brilliant, much appreciated. MM PS: Rees..just FYI ...nothing I do on this Forum can impress Mrs W, unless it involves her receiving food, Moet, jewelry, a holiday, or racy knickers ...and I don't think any of those things are on the SuperDuper Comp Prize List!!
