  11. True, my friend .... that's why I added the 'approx.' before I posted. Having said that, I wouldn't expect a whole lot of variation. Good luck with your selections, Maxi. 🙂

  15. Very well done Ian, Richie, Stevie, Jamison and Secret Squirrel on your tremendous Magpies title win in this PJ Autumn NPC Super Comp. Very strong throughout, and thoroughly deserved winners. Did I read that right, Ian, 3 consecutive PJ Comp Championship victories ? That is absolutely outstanding ! Big kudos to you, my friend. Hard luck today, Kauri Kats ... we Mighty Blues did enough to withstand your formidable Triple Joker play, but it wasn't easy. Phew ! 😀 Thanks Maxi and Kats ... a very good team and you were much, much better than your wooden spoon placing might indicate to the uninitiated. Very small margins in PJ Comps as you would expect with the quality of all the participants. Certainly the 10 points we Mighty Blues dropped in R10 a fortnight back on our Triple Joker play (Cascadian ! aaagh 🙁) was the difference between us finishing Bottom 2 instead of Top 2. Very fine margins. A big thank you to my Blues Brothers Geoff, Gordy, Roland and Pete for all your skill and effort. Always very enjoyable playing alongside you guys. This is very likely the last time all 5 of us will all be together in Mighty Blues colours, the longest-standing unchanged NPC team over the many seasons. It's been an absolute pleasure. Thank you very much PJ for another outstanding comp ....always run so well, and always ensuring the highest level of fun and excitement for us all each Saturday afternoon. You're an absolute legend. Many, many thanks. And thank you to all participants, playing so well and in such good spirit. Still with me, Rees ? 😄 See ya all next time, folks. 🙂
  16. Thanks for the good thought Maxi about the potential side-bet. I hope you don't mind, but one of the things I like most about PJ Comps is that there is never prizemoney of any sort, it's all for the honour and glory. 🙂. And after all these years my preference is for it to stay that way. But a good thought though Maxi .... and thanks for the offer. Good luck for Saturday .... both our teams are much, much better than our respective places on the leaderboard would indicate.
  17. Indiana Lilly will be most welcome at $71.90 ! 😉 Gonna put half my Regardsmaree winnings on Gracias Amigo ..... the Chief's big hope !
  18. There's a new king in town .....and his name is Gordy for the Mighty Blues ! .... Surely there'll be a comeback from the former king .....though the clock is ticking ! What's he got to come ? :- Shelby Sixtysix & Regardsmaree BB So Si Bon & Gracias Amigo Sword of Mercy/Pandemic Zac and Heather ....mighty impressive for the Ferdies today
  19. Mighty Blues skittled in the last, after leading all day. As Tofane bounded clear for Geoff we were on song for a 4-1 win and 9 comp points for the day. Now it's a 2-3 loss and 0 comp points for the day. Been a tough comp for the Mighty Blues. 🤔 I'll just to go back and watch re-runs of last night's Blues v Crusaders to console myself. 🙂 Well done Ian & the Magpies. Great finish from you to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. Commiserations fellow Blues Brothers.
  20. Yes, you're absolutely spot on, Maxi ......there was a time that the only comp I'd ever consider selecting Kementari in would have been a 'Lay-Of-The-Day' Comp. Yet I had no problem selecting Kementari today .... has come on in leaps-and-bounds. Brilliantly ridden.
  21. Expecting it to be an excellent Easter long weekend for the Mighty Blues. The rugby boys strode off to Christchurch last evening and saw off the benchmark team the Crusaders, running away in the end 27-23. Top stuff ! 🙂 Now the horseracing Mighty Blues outfit to see off another benchmark team - the table-topping Magpies ? YES ! 🙂 Great weekend to be a Jaffa ! 😁
  22. Simply a 'sighter' from Gordy today .... a training run. Tomorrow he'll be banging them between the posts for the Mighty Blues !
  23. Thanks, Pete. Very enjoyable. 😊 Top stuff, Ziggy ..... well done !
  24. R1) 7 R2) 6 BB R3) 6 R4) 7 R5) 5 R6) 3 R7) 16 R8) 6 Many thanks for this comp, Pete. 🙂
  25. Well done, Blind Squirrel, Ray & the Turbos ! Simply too good for the Mighty Blues today, you were always in control and to be perfectly honest the 3-2 margin probably flattered us a little. I've got a soft spot for the Turbos, being the first team that Geoff and I ever played for in PJ Comps back around the turn of the century ! Faced with the dilemma of deciding whether poor tipping was our problem today, or whether it was the tracks/venues that brought us unstuck ......I'm gonna plump for the tracks/venues, and declare absolutely ..... let's bring back Ellerslie ! 😁 all is forgiven, Ellerslie. Fortunately, through astute captaincy we Mighty Blues are still eagerly clutching BOTH Jokers not carelessly tossed away during our downtimes .... and when we play them the impact is gonna be swift, significant, and devastating to all other rival teams. Fair to say that the ailing and fading Magpies are now firmly in our lines of sight for our Triple Joker play. But keep that under your hat .... loose lips and all that. Ooops...we've lost one .....Rees hasn't stayed the distance and is now fast asleep. More your 900m dasher squib, than your tried and proven elite 1400m/miler. Thanks for your efforts today fellow Blues Brothers, better days are directly ahead .... grand job well done today Turbos ......many thanks for another great performance scoring and commentating today, PJ. Thank you. Superlative performance by you today, Maria, very well done, you showed the way to all us who were struggling. And good tipping too, king. Pete wanted to say that, but delegated the job to me. Thanks, Pete, he says, looking for the tongue-in-cheek emoji. WAKE UP, Rees ! You're making the place look untidy. 😊 See you next week, folks.
