  1. check the history, king .... that'll give ya all ya need to know. Good to see ya all verbose again .... cos when you're on a run of misses we never hear a word from ya. 'Tis true. πŸ˜‰
  2. Early days king ..... ya gotta learn to time your run. 😊
  3. I thought we'd hear from you king after a few weeks absence. πŸ˜ƒ
  4. Might have been just plodding down at Riccarton .... but the Joker king absolutely grows a leg when he gets across the Tasman. Geoff to rocket home and save the day ! πŸ™‚
  5. Better cover your eyes, kat lovers ..... it ain't gonna be pretty .....as the Mighty Blues cut loose, kat fur flying in all directions.
  6. Brilliant ! πŸ™‚ I sense a Triple Joker play is imminent ...and where better to start than at one of our Blues favourite northern venues, e Rapa, next Saturday. I wonder what mug outfit we'll be up against ??? Gulp πŸ˜’ ...... Magpies ....... 1st ...... 19 points.
  7. Hence my words of wisdom from the throne on our team thread earlier in the week. "I'm not thinking Joker play this coming Saturday, as we're at Riccarton with big fields and anything can happen." Fair to say the further south we Jaffas venture, the more problematic our Jaffa lives become. πŸ™‚ We're good with the Mainland Cheese ..... but the rest of the South ...... well ....... πŸ€” Roll on Randwick ! Time to bring some sense and normality to the occasion.
  8. Thankfully for the Mighty Blues it was a Highlander who was already ahead, Maria ! πŸ˜€
  9. 2nd v 1st Maven Belle running out in the direction of the fast closing Wolverine.
  10. 2 Rounds played and 2 Mighty Blues losses have focused our attention and steeled our resolve, Craig. πŸ™‚ But there's still plenty of water to go under the bridge today. Am taking nothing for granted.
  11. Great job Gordy for the Mighty Blues .... not only the long-shot winner Amalfi Prince but also the quinella. That gives us a mighty leap towards the Team Profit threshold.
  12. Dem Blues have jumped with a wing on every hoof .....and it's only gonna get better from here. I'm sensing is gonna be a great Saturday in Blues history. Well spotted Hesi. πŸ˜€
  13. Congrats, Maria and the Swamp Foxes on a successful Triple Joker play. πŸ˜™ You did well, and are a strong chance to take out this whole comp. It was a strange ole weekend's racing with the downturn in weather and track conditions. To be honest with work yesterday I didn't end up seeing a thing and have only caught up with the results this morning. So on to next weekend where we'll be looking to bounce back in a tough match against the Highlanders, who are much, much better than their 8th place in the standings would indicate. Both teams looking for improved performances to leap up the leaderboard. Thanks, PJ, and see you Saturday, folks.
  14. These are mine for today ! No peeking, Maria. You know you want to. 😁 7. Wellington R4 : 7 & 11 8. Wellington R5 : 7 & 11 9. Wellington R6 : 3 & 4 Best Bet 10. Wellington R7 : 2 & 6 Thanks, PJ.
  15. Boom or Bust day for 'Once Was Too Fast' against a runaway leader Maria. 😊 Taken some 'hairy' things in the hope that something will stick, as I set out to bridge the gap. Could be a long day at the office...as I see that our Just Plodded is busy studying the track conditions for Trentham, not realising that we're dealing with Wellington, New South Wales. πŸ˜” Where do we get these staff ? ☺️ Still ..... Geoff's not the one trailing $0 - $280 in his personal match-up. Good luck today, folks .... and as always ..... Go the Mighty Blues. Nostrils in front, and looking to hang on. πŸ™‚ Thanks, PJ.
  16. My personal preference given I'm trailing in my match-up with Maria 0-280, would obviously be to go to Wellington tomorrow so that I can climb onto 8 "roughies". πŸ™‚ In fairness to players like Maria, it would be best to go with the postponed Rosehill races on Monday. I'm happy either way.
  17. I'll be going rough, t here's no doubt about that ! 😁 I better phone 0800-the king can help ............. something I never thought I'd ever do. ☺️ Desperate times call for desperate measures.
  18. Well-spotted, Maria, and a BB to boot ! πŸ™‚ I couldn't touch it with it's 0007 formline. I've got a big job in front of me now. Thank goodness for team-mates. 😊
  19. The 'king' finds a $3.40 winner. It has to be said ...... clearly ....... the 'king' has gone soft. πŸ˜‰
  20. Time to open the Mighty Blues corporate wallet on Affogato Girl, to weigh her down a tad. Let's see if we can't pay off the new $4.4b dollar Auckland City Rail Link with our return ..if there is a return. ☺️
  21. 0 BLUES (3rd) 0.00 0 SWAMP FOXES*** (6th) 0.00 Big call by Maria & the Swamp Foxes, playing their one-and-only Triple Joker as early as Round 2 against the comp favourites the Mighty Blues. Big call ! πŸ™‚...let's see how that one goes. 😁 Mighty Blues are now all attention, and ready to repel the invaders in style.
  22. Kauri Kats with 3 alumni in the Serendipitous Six after Round 1, a huge advantage, but somehow they've conspired to be running 7th of 8 on the big one, the leaderboard ! Just Plodded volunteered that on first glance it appeared like awful team mismanagement on the part of the Kauri Kats, but I said that I couldn't possibly comment, that I'm not one to put the boot in to ailing rival outfits (unless they're our opponent for the coming Saturday πŸ™‚).
  23. I found one, PJ ! πŸ™‚ KAURI KATS Will spring the odd surprise, most likely against i.e. the Chiefs, but overall will struggle to maintain the intensity needed to threaten the comp front-runners i.e. the Mighty Blues. You're welcome, folks. 😊 Always happy to help.
  24. Congrats to Rex and his Grey Ways for a top performance today, taking out our keenly-contested Grey Ways v Yahabeebe match in fine style. Good use of the Joker play and an excellent personal tally from you, Rex, leading from the front. Well done that man, well done that team ! πŸ™‚ Yahabeebe's stint as a franchise has now concluded, and we can look back with satisfaction on a solid 5th of 9 ...with highlights being :- - victory over both the Championship winners OffnGone and the Championship runner-up SurfnTurf in our match-ups; - no team ever choosing to play their 'bye' game in a Yahabeebe match. We must have had a fearsome reputation ! πŸ™‚ Many, many thanks to my team-mates Heather, Rob, Richie and Wrinkles for all your efforts and for being vital parts of the team. We all had our moments in the sun, and can be happy with what we achieved. Heartiest congratulations to Champion Winners OffnGone (Ian, StevieN, Secret Squirrel, Ziggy, Rees) ..... a grand result and very well-deserved success .....and with special mention too for comp runners-up SurfnTurf who were always formidable. Another highly enjoyable, absorbing PJ Comp expertly administered by the champion comp organiser of all time ... PJ. Superb as always, PJ, and many thanks for another sterling performance by you. Special thanks to Pete & Hesi who run this very popular site, a superb platform for PJ's comps. You guys do great, and thank you. And so on now to resumption of the inter-provincial rivalries, the always popular NPC Comp, where the Mighty Blues will be dominant ! Watch out other miscellaneous misfit one-street provincial rabbles, the city-slickers are a-comin' for ya ! 😁 Yahabeebe out.
