  1. Cringeworthy interview with Mackinnon on The Box Seat. Found it interesting the part about race dates was edited out.
  2. Hey Richie, If possible, may the $10 bet please be placed on the following multi? (All Sunday games) Roosters 13+ Storm 13+ Panthers 13+ Many thanks
  3. Raiders Warriors Rabbitohs Sharks Roosters Storm Panthers
  4. 100% agree. I actually thought I was having my leg pulled when someone told me about it. It's b.s. What a joke.
  5. I've done what you said, and imagined it. No way in the world it's going to break my neck. Because, I'm moving too. And moving in the exact same direction, as the horse behind me. And I dare say, and hope, that it would be a damn sight quicker than 20k's an hour! Now time for others to imagine something. Imagine if the horse being punched, broke, went into a mad gallop, crashed, and brought half the field down. There have been multiple incidents on race tracks in the last 6 months where horses have hit the deck, causing horses in behind to fall, with jockeys going to ground and getting instantly killed. Helmets and vests didn't save them, and they were taken far, far too soon from their friends, family and loved ones. That is just one reason, and possible scenario, as to why we can't have people punching horses during the running of races where they can be going in excess of 50km per hour, and as you've rightly pointed out, it's 500kg of meat, combined with bits of metal, it may not end well. And that's an understatement.

  7. Going again at Winton today and looks like "overs" at $2.50 final field! And $1.75 to run Top 2. Hopefully that virus that went through the barn (causing all the scratchings) a few weeks back is no more.
  8. Broncos Bulldogs Panthers Rabbitohs Cowboys Raiders Knights Sharks
  9. Right. I've gotta get on the phone to the Aussie bookies ASAP to get a quote for him to win the NZ Cup.
  10. I was going to, but then thought why? You have already seen it. You slow motioned it, and freeze framed it. By posting a photo of it on here, and it gets into the wrong hands (the anti-racing brigade) and it'll be bad news all round. So what's the point of sticking a photo of it up on here? Anyone can go and watch the race online. Everyone makes mistakes, and if J Cox had his time again, he probably wouldn't have done what he did on Sunday. Even the driver next to him, travelling on the inside, was looking at him like WTF are you doing?! Must have been a new helmet. They are expensive. Cost of living crisis and that. Lightning Blue is right. The ole head flick by the driver would have been a much better option, than throwing multiple punches with a closed fist. It kind of reminds me of my childhood. Dad driving his car, with the right hand on the steering wheel, and using the left hand trying to whack us smart arse kids in the back seat with his jandal. Was fine and all good back in the day. But the world has changed.
  11. That crazy, loopy, anti-racing brigade, are not going to be slow-motioning it, when they go sharing it on their Bookfaces and insta-toks.
  12. FFS. Just yet ANOTHER example, of harness racing shooting itself in the foot. Bloody hell. Public perception. Gotta be very careful these days. We live In a different world now, compared to decades gone by. The only saving grace here, is that there is a very good chance, this event will not make mainstream media, so most of the public, maybe 99% of the public, that have no interest in harness racing, will not actually become aware of this act. Imagine if the anti-racing brigade got wind of this event. They are going after greyhound racing, and it's a bee's dick away from getting shut down in NZ. And if they get their way, bringing the curtain down on the greyhounds, then guess which sport they will be targeting next? It's acts like this, hitting a horse, with one's fist (no matter how it is defended) that will really add fuel to the fire.
  13. Correct, all of the horses entered for that day were scratched.
  14. Raiders Broncos Warriors Sharks Storm Tigers Roosters Eels
  15. Good. I sure hope that is the case.
  16. Cheers for the update, much appreciated. Many people will be interested to see how this all unfolds. Given the arrogance of ATC President Jamie Mackinnon, I think there is every chance he will instruct contractors to undertake the tarseal project, above Cardy's "final" (current) resting place without notification to any other party. And one morning, it will be all laid bare, for all to see, black asphalt for miles, and noone will be able to pinpoint exactly where the great horse lies. What are the odds of that happening? $1.05?

  19. I just had to double check that for myself (as I was going to make a phone call to the TAB), but I think you may possibly have mistaken one Dean for the other Dean.
  20. What a great video clip this is. Credit to Jonny Turner, this is a feel-good watch, and what racing is all about. Love the enthusiasm and a bit of fire in the belly when the horse is running for home. It's great to see, I just wanted to share it, incase people had missed it. Maybe Trackside executive producers/directors could do a bit more of this kind of thing, instead of immediately crossing to the next at the Boomerang Creek greyhounds. https://fb.watch/kdxMf6zChn/?mibextid=Nif5oz
  21. It's the very worst part of horse racing, these tragic circumstances. Words can't convey just how sad such events can be. Thoughts and condolences to the family and friends left behind. My heart goes out to his wee kids too. The give-a-little page is such a good gesture, and will no doubt offer some needed support to the family going forward. As sad as what the racing game can be at times, it can also demonstrate just how strong the racing community can be during tough times. And credit to Racing Victoria too, for accommodating some flexibility in dates of race meetings and venues.
