  1. What is this early crow bet?
  2. Nothing worse than being hemmed in with All Stars around you. If you draw 2 on race day, I would have a short look to see if I could cross Willow Bay, if not hold the running line and let Major Perry do the hard yards and let him end up parked. If you draw 1, then you have to hold out Franco Mac or you toast back on the rails. I would want Willow Bay to start if I was Republican Party.
  3. I have seen the open appreciation of a lot posters during this competition for the effort you put in, but as a first timer, I would like to acknowledge the lengths you go to in bringing people a lot of enjoyment every Saturday. Even to the chariot folk! I have been seated firmly in the harness discussions all these years and only hearing bits and pieces about these 'competitions' though I sometimes blindly looked at all these weird team names with lots of numbers everywhere and people ribbing each other like they had known each other forever, I now finally get it. It is just good clean fun with a tonne of camaradiere thrown in. Like a bygone era. Thank you.
  4. Copy That into 3.80ff What on earth is going on there?
  5. Things like these are not a good omen for the future. I bet there is part of him longing for the 80s.
  6. Get a proper winning post so you can actually see where the end of the race is. Bloody awful and amateurish.
  7. With Pembrook Playboy out of the Cup, the back markers have been blessed with a less difficult task because in my view Classie Brigade is a sitting duck now.
  8. They are the odds, 51 for Bad to the Bone etc. If they are offering 3.20 for Muscle Mountain in OZ you should get into that.
  9. You are like the TAB with the date for the NZ Trotting Cup. A day flippin late!
  10. 2 observations about the odds for the Cup Bad to the Bone 51ff V Copy That 4.50ff Similar draws in the Cup. Copy That beats Bad to the Bone after a better run first up then Bad to the Bone beats Copy That, albeit with a 10m start, in the second meeting. Then Bad to the Bone runs just ok in Kaikoura Cup. So, which one is wrong? The 51 for BTTB or the 4.50 for CT. How can they be so far apart? One could argue BTTB has better race day fitness. Why the love for Copy That suddenly? Classie Brigade 7.50ff V Henry Hubert 31ff A few starts ago Henry was the new kid on the block for the Dunn Stable and Classie Brigade seemed on the wane but things have changed. Obviously, CB has reinvigorated himself but Henry went a bold race in the Kaikoura Cup. Henry is off the unruly and nicely drawn wider on the front row ready for a walking start... Who is the better value?
  11. It might seem quieter but if you take out the people with multiple user names and the repetition, it is probably the same. I have learnt on here that it is not necessary for a site to be 'buzzing' all the time.
  12. I still remember being a little sharp (and rude) in a reply to you too at the beginning of your time on that site. My apology continues. In my defence, I was frazzled by the crap going on and not trusting new posters as I thought they were existing ones with double identities.
  13. Thought he only nailed Brodie and the Chief lol.
  14. Hope no one notices because I am going to hit the winner after the race on Tuesday and make a killing on Wednesday 😂
  15. Terry, a 5 win horse rated 75. Steel The Show, a 5 win horse rated 72. Laver, a 6 win horse rated 74. All in the Cup and here was me saying it was a deep field earlier.
  16. One won't sacrifice itself for the other. By the way, the TAB think it is next Wednesday the Cup is on.
  17. The draws are less important over a 3200 stand in my view. They are only as good as where you land after 200m of running and even then who is to say they are good. If Classie Brigade or P Playboy get out and run as leader and trail, do you think after a mile they will hold the challenge from SCA or SA (or Laver) out as they come hunting for the lead? If they hand up, do you think they can come off their back and beat either of them? The biggest question for me in regard to SCA and SA is how they deal with Laver. He could be the fly in the ointment in the tactics used. Same for CB and PP, They can't have Laver parked and putting pressure on them for an extended part of the journey. What if Laver stepped, went hunting for the lead first and got it?
  18. Even with Level 2 restrictions, I thought today was overkill and shouldn't be tried again. Took me back to lockdown when it was only Addington racing and they go round and round and round. I can also see why Aussies don't punt on NZ harness with those standing starts as it is lottery. Somehow they are now made to stand! The Cup could be a debacle with quite a few fractious horses.
  19. It is a step up with some reasonable horses in it compared to the poor lot at Ashburton. If it won tomorrow, it would be even more of a surprise. It was swabbed at Ashburton so don't know what more they could do.
  20. Gee my team is good. As I Speak with a 1/4 record and zero dollars on the board today. The only thing I am qualified to do is run the TAB.
  21. A nice story and helps with having a leading lady like that in it. Karrots, you should really disband your northern cheerleading squad as the thought of Globe and Double R 'cheerleading' is somewhat disturbing 🤣 The South will win the Cup anyway. That is a given. Also, SCA is a southerner isn't it? 😅
  22. Methven TC are great hosts. 😂
