  1. Was that the century previous to the last one? 😂 You couldn't say a phrase like that today unless it was in a Netflix show or on the Stuff website.
  2. Would the other 2 codes actively oppose this or pay lip service to it because they want a bigger share of the gambling pie? It would be selfishly good news for harness would it not? Only a matter of time before they are gone, same for jumps racing. I have always maintained that harness racing is the safest form of racing, and therefor, the least in the firing line.
  3. Parked is a position of unfairness so not sure the left would even be happy with that. Refund for punters if your horse is parked? Hang on, the left don't like punters as they encourage animal cruelty! The only kind of solution is to cancel racing of all kinds. Problem solved. Got to love the current climate we live in. Hang on, climate change.....
  4. Commentators just need to call the race using simple harness terminology, not over the top jargon which confuses people and has little or no meaning half the time.,
  5. He may have had to drop the references of the parked position relating to death, such as 'sitting in the death' 'death chair or the 'death seat' Animal welfare is the priority after all lol
  6. I can't stand 'early doors' How did this term come into vogue?
  7. Beach Ball must be a good horse then 😂 I see John Dunn used the same phrase for Sundee's Son. The Stipe's must have decided on the phrasing. It was a ready made get out clause for racing last night. I see some of the times were pretty quick last night.
  8. If you want to see something from the 'Ripley's believe it or not' file, have a look at Ross Cameron's drive on Saginaw last night. Brain fade?
  9. You went pretty well there, Rusty. Life of Art gave a great site in a full on race.
  10. I don't think that post will get you thrown out of church let alone a racing site.
  11. But I can still harm myself, I have an inkling for Talent Agent at 31s in the third. There are some serious newcomers to racing in it and I know it is wrong to back it but I can not help myself. What is the gambling harm hotline number? Anyone know? Globe, you must have rung it a few times, can you give it to me please 😂 While a good cause, all these blue colours are silly.
  12. They restrict my punting anyway so the odds on me falling into harm are next to nil even if I wanted to.
  13. With the right treatment anything is possible! Very well, thank you. Thankful the racing will become more varied from now on. Winter at Addington for pretty much all the winter is dull. Methven will be a real challenge next week as it always is but with the trials cancelled there on Sunday it is even harder. Katie Cox is on a roll with this horse and I am really happy for her. You think you will get more on the tote? See it into 8s with the scratching of Chief of Staff. If Spy Da Moment wins, or even runs second, he will be will be well on the well to being in the Dominion. He will be more of force at Methven which he likes a lot and then Banks later this month.
  14. Where are you, Rusty? Give me a winner for tomorrow and I will repay you with one at Methven.
  15. As they will be for the winners tomorrow. Finally, the fields are a bit more mixed with newcomers to the track and some horses areappearing. Some good odds on offer if you can get it right.
  16. HRNZ probably used the nominations as a guide to whether horses were fit or not. I severely doubt they actually asked or surveyed trainers. I don't think these horses would ever have been out of work, maybe down slightly but trainers would have always kept them close enough to race fitness. Many horse come back needing a run or two anyway. While animal welfare is of paramount importance it is only so when it is convenient. Racing resumed today in the south after 2 days out of Level 4 which shows the mighty gambling dollar will always take precedence over anything else. The whole set of rules around Level 4 were nothing more than lip service in my opinion. My cynicism is quite high at the moment if you can't tell. 😂
  17. I am wondering if the schedule of playing the Scottish Open is catching up with Ariya and Lydia. I think Minjee Lee is nicely placed only 3 back. She must be playing good golf as she had 2 horrible doubles in her first round, other than that going nicely. It is kind of a shame it is not forecast to be windy around that course because it would play into Minjee's hands even better. Full attention on the golf now there is no racing in NZ.
  18. You would be leading if you were in a comp 😂
  19. It is odd they don't have this capability (maybe it didn't come under the millions it cost to produce the website!) I download the race book to have a quick glance at the slushy stats. Mind you, for me, the grass winners come into play on slushy all weather. Quite a few of the winners today have won on the grass. In a few weeks, the horses who have been running around on this Friday and Sunday circuit will be surpassed by better horses so I won't be backing any of them. Shown today by Taumata VC who might be heading towards country cups the way he is going.
  20. Nelly Korda plays golf just like me....I always double bogey the last for 62 😂
  21. She has a massive future. Thai golf is going from strength to strength at the moment.
  22. That was a fair bet. He played well enough to win but Morikawa didn't miss a beat which was impressive.
  23. Afternoon players got the best of it it seemed. I hope Louis wins as he would be deserving. Unfortunately, sentiment doesn't count for much on a links course in a major.
