  1. I expect to be buried tomorrow. But on the positive side, at least I know where Hawera is.
  2. Highlanders 15 to 1 before the start and now hot favourite. I need that pulpit of truth so I can tell you my galloping selections for tomorrow....😂
  3. A lot of the good natured talk is in the comps which you can't see if you are not a member. People don't talk drivel on this site.
  4. Chances of a crowd? 10% Chances of running at these courses without a crowd? 0% As for the harness meeting on the coast, they may have to move these to the grass at Rangiora and have them without a crowd. If it is Rangiora, it will give the West Coast and Marlborough trainers the least distance to travel. Not very ideal but what else does one do? Before long, we will be having 2 meetings a week at Addington which will do my head in.
  5. SWAMP FOXES (1st) The Swamp Foxes have clearly not yet gone up against a quality team ie another team made up of harness people.
  6. If he doesn't like what I wrote above he can block me on here. I just saw his spiel about social media on the show. I have said it before, it is such a shame someone else is not on that show to create discussion (let alone debate) rather than just being his soapbox, which it is, without doubt.
  7. Be warned though, strange things happen....I am in a gallops comp 😂
  8. Watched the Box Seat and Guerin wasn't very complimentary about Geraldine compared to Methven. He said it was too far. Does this guy even know his geography? It is only about another 30 or 40k. I thought harness people were hardier souls. Do trainers want to go to Oamaru for the Hannon? He also said trainers don't like the surface for the genuine open class horses. Really? if the surface was bad would they have those horses there on Sunday? Methven is great he reckons. Well, in my book, Methven (the supposed best purpose built track) looks like a dairy farm the grass is that long, the stables bend has had problems, plus the racing is most biased towards marker runners than on any other track in NZ. The only plus for Methven is the lack of a crossing. Hence, it is the best track label. He would qualify to be a Green MP in an interview at times.
  9. Zero chance indeed. I don't think the public will be at the races for a very long time. The West Coast Xmas circuit, Nelson and Blenheim are on the knife edge too even at this stage I reckon.
  10. Crikey, I am up against the flipping All Stars! There is no way a self respecting harness follower would know so much about gallops and have returned 928 dollars after 2 rounds. No wonder he is in a team with Rees on it.... SWAMP FOXES (1st) vs HIGHLANDERS (5th) Von Smallhausen (2/0-928.00/323.00) v Happy (1/1-397.20/299.20) Richie (1/1-360.20/346.00) v Rex (1/1-189.00/357.40) Robert (2/0-307.00/150.00) v Craig (0/2-507.80/754.20) Maria (1/1-230.00/149.00) v Rusty (1/1-292.20/288.20) Rees (1/1-273.00/410.80) v Mardy (1/0-351.80/276.80)
  11. Why is Temporale not going to Addington for Cup Week? Past it?
  12. So, it is no hope with the current levels but why don't the government allow a Cup Day crowd in the South Island if the attendees are vaccinated? Why not bring their idea for concerts forward in an island which has no covid.
  13. One to follow in the same race is Lavra Segil. Good manners and a nice action. Seems to be left alone on tote so I might borrow some of Rusty's glistening gold coins and put them on it too.
  14. Handy type in the making but I am concerned about here manners last 2. I have gone for Jesper Fast at the initial 9FF Stable seem to be in form. Action Packed has been solid at the trials and That's the Story went better on Friday.
  15. Some unproven shorties thrown out by the TAB tomorrow so there is a bit of value but at no great odds. Race 2 Taimate Lass 6FF Race 3 Westar Molly 9FF Race 5 Asian Elvis 4.60FF Race 9 Robyn's Shadow 9FF Race 10 Rockntommyrulz 5.50FF Exacta of the day Asian Elvis X Tasman Tempest at 20-1. The Hannon will be a good watch to see if Classie Brigade is a serious contender in November and to see if Cranbourne and Vintage Cheddar can step up.
  16. Buckskin is classic example of not benefitting from the shift to Ashburton. Could still win as you say but off a mark on that speedy track is hard work. I
  17. I see there is a 30kmh wind in Ashburton at the moment so expect to see Franco Hatton run his last half in 51.6 😂 It feels like my study for the grass at Methven is out the window so might have to look at reliable horses with decent draws in that wind like Rachel Daytom and Random Spur in the first. A few Woodend watches today, namely Masterofthemanor with Purvis, Moons Way with Newman and Uncle Chan with Edmonds. Will we see Tetrick like turnarounds with these horses? The TAB think the fresh air will do them wonders so have offered short odds for all of them. Don't blame them either.
  18. Here is a new one. Not before time in my book. JIMMY CARTER - driver B Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 857(7)(a) when he allowed his gelding to approach the barrier quicker than the other runners which caused a delay to the start. After viewing the films and hearing evidence the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Broke at the start losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
  19. Not a shadow, the weight of my money 😂 It is gambling harm awareness week so I will heed the TAB after that last race!
  20. You don't see that too often, a horse breaking at the 600 for seemingly no reason.
  21. Top 4!! 😂 Deserved all your dosh!
