Maximus
Danica Guy says of her charge Lupo Solitario “Crocetti got quite a soft time of it and we probably would have liked to have seen a little bit more pressure put on him through the race and we may have seen a different result,” Guy said. “It came down to tactics, unfortunately we were in the one-one so we weren’t the one able to apply pressure and the one that was outside didn’t apply the pressure. Questions: If LS was in the one-one but would've referred a stronger tempo, why didn't the jock go wider to put on the pressure? Would LS have won if it had sprinted mid-race and taken the lead? (The usual answer is that they want another horse to take the pain of applying the pressure three wide early or mid-race). So, in essence, LS is an inferior sprinter than Crocetti, and the best horse won the race. Question: Why does she think LS would've won off a stronger tempo? If LS is a stronger racehorse overall, why let Crocetti get away with soft sectionals? Why not back yourself to outstay it but putting the pressure on yourself! Just asking. Turny
My immediate reaction is was she happy with the ride, if the answer is yes then there was never going to be a different outcome. Surely pressing forward was the only option, but it didn’t happen and to be fair it is seen here week after week in TB racing
Hesi
Here is the race. Lupo Solitario could have come out at anytime and applied pressure, but left it till rounding the final bend and even then was hard pushed to beat To Catch a Thief https://loveracing.nz/Common/SystemTemplates/Modal/Video.aspx?v=http%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202310%2fM2_WAIK_R07_211023.mp4&i=%2fCommon%2fImage.ashx%3fw%3d565%26h%3d314%26a%3d1%26o%3d1%26z%3d1%26bg%3deeeeee%26p%3dhttp%3a%2f%2fwww.racingreplays.co.nz%2fmedia%2f202310%2fM2_WAIK_R07_211023.jpg&r=Race 7 - JAMES AND ANNIE SARTEN MEMORIAL&rs=

Watch tomorrow's racing from Geelong & you will see far worse.

Agree 100% Barry 3 tracks I just don’t bet on in MLB as they are the Te Rapas of Mlb Pakenham Synthetic, Geelong and Kyneton. Rarely go outside HQ and Caulfield. Just deliver truer racing those venues. Edited October 24 by Turny

No disrespect, but most on here would have little regard for trainers' pre-race comments, so I presume the same would apply to post race comments.

Buller Rep
Whatever way the race was run, he wouldn't have won, BUT going forward come the Autumn I think that the 2nd horse will have the measure of the winner.
