Midnight Caller
Sad news this evening of the passing of the Wales and Lions twinkle toed, sidestepping fly half. 2
Hesi
Those 2 tours, 71 as well, were legendary, when rugby was alive and well in NZ, and a direct parallel with racing. They also played many of the lesser unions mid week. If you were a rugby fan, then you listened to all those games mid week on the radio Went to quite a few of both the 71 and 77 tour matches 3 of the test grounds, no longer exist, Carisbrook, Athletic Park and Lancaster Park. Sad to see he has passed on

Yep, they trained one afternoon at Rongotai College in my last year. They were a bunch of naughty boys on tour and I think Phil was one who got into trouble. I think they got a bit amourous towards some of the provincial players wives from memory. Very good team though and some classic games.
