It’s called racing for a reason. The leader has no right to own the racetrack than anyone else in the race. You either accept a challenge when you’re out there or you don’t, some of the best races are when they run time and it’s competitive. My ten cents worth.

Too good DR Paid $40 odd . Met Neville Clarke after that(brother of Bruce Gammalite fame), what a gentleman. Had just been diagnosed with lung cancer, he ran 4th behind Baltic Eagle in the final, Neville was gone within the year.

I think also, Chokin got posthumously promoted from 5th to 3rd, maybe wrong. I think he had died already. Did Victor Supreme get disqualified on a leg rub?

Great race, that Golden Reign brilliant. Ants maybe should have pulled earlier and wouldn’t have been knocked down, extinguished Master Musician as well I remember. Winner deserved it, last with a lap to run👍

Remember FD well. Robert Mitchell still thought he was going to win on the turn he was travelling that well, despite losing a heap, last mile and a half in around 2.56 from memory, unheard of then.Lunar Chance led most of the way.
