  1. That's Tassie with his distinctive style getting Van Dieman home over Johnny Globe & Single Direct Van Dieman - Vanadium? Johnny Globe - Lordship How am I batting?
  2. Agreed Karrots, although Merlin looks a bit faster at this stage.
  3. Marky boy will have a plan, he’s got the fastest one in Self Assured…I’ll send him a text, do it for Blackie😇. Vincent’s have impressed me on type right from foals, looks like AGH might run the quinella with the #1 quite smart as well.
  4. Tactician started in 6 NZ Cups but I don't think thats a record. He did race until he was 13, must be some kinda record

    Mid-week trivia

I'd have a go but I already have an Arrowfield cap that everyone admires, thanks so much PJ 👍 .
  6. Man, that was worth a novel about Kevin Holmes and the way his life spiralled, such a talented horseman. I remember when first getting involved I asked him for some advice and he said the best thing you can do is put your horses head on the gate leading up to the start and he was right! It works.
  7. I'd put Themightyquinn at the very top of this list. The Bagries had good one there and sold him for good money at the time(always sellers), and turned into a $5m plus winner, and just a neat horse. He won a race at Reefton with Double D driving him, who'd of thought.
  8. Looking at the Interdominion list, Aussies would be too strong I’d say, although the Kiwi’s would be better driven, ha, so maybe a Wolfie or R May special would get one home. All great horses there, champions.
  9. Stella Frost first past the post, beating Spry. Blackie 1/ LB 0
  10. C'mon Karrots, he's even in the Carrot colours to help you.
  11. Hi Globe Did he lose that after a positive swab? Seem to remember something of the like.
  12. Well, the ‘Q‘ s aren’t actually flowing prolifically but one I remember is Quiet Touch for the Shinn’s that raced some pretty good horses, may have ran 3rd in an Auckland Cup? Mike DeFilippi who drove her a few times had a half pie decent one in Quiet Win as well, 3rd in NZ Cup I think.
  13. Thanks for that LB.I think they did a circuit of three, Alex Park, Addington and another. Paleface Adios at a guess?
  14. I remember Bob Mitchell had a photo on the wall of that one, Jack Carmichael drove I think.
  15. I'll kick the 'P''s off with Petite Evander, a trail blazer in a number of ways, winning in NZ,Aussie and The States, and dam of another great P, Interdominion Winner Pride of Petite. Here she is beating her nemesis, Nigel Craig. Nostalgia at it's best, right there.
  16. I remember Felix use to get that left arm going on the running rail at Addington, certainly worked on a few , trust me. He was certainly a top horseman and would be willing to give advice when needed. Smart....he would sometimes hold up the start until he was ready...Felix, just the cat's whiskers as they would say.
