  1. The Warning - ENTER SANDMAN Live at Teatro Metropolitan CDMX 08/29/2022
  2. To mark the 30th anniversary of Metallica‘s iconic 1991 release The Black Album, 53 different artists of various genres have recorded their versions of every track on the album for a massive project called The Metallica Blacklist. Among them is Alessia Cara, who says she was “honored” to have been invited to participate. “They asked me if I wanted to be part of this project, which is, like, crazy!” she tells ABC Audio. “I was very blindsided. I didn’t think that they would pick me on their list of people, but it was awesome…I was so honored and flattered that they asked me to do it.” Alessia teamed up with a trio of sisters from Mexico called The Warning to cover the album’s best-known song, “Enter Sandman.” “Because The Warning sort of got popular and got discovered through doing their cover of “Enter Sandman,” they asked if we could do that one,” Alessia explains. “And I was like, ‘Yeah, of course…that’s such a legendary song.'” Alessia says the song choice is “kind of cool” because in her latest single “Sweet Dream,” she references the Sandman. “I was like, ‘Oh, maybe it’s serendipitous to to do this,'” she adds. So, did Metallica approve of the job they did? Alessia says she got a thumbs up. “Not directly, but through the ‘team,’ we heard that they really loved it,” she laughs. “So thank God, as long as we got the stamp of approval from them, I’m happy.” https://www.wrmf.com/enter-canada-how-alessia-cara-ended-up-on-the-metallica-blacklist/
  3. Hailing from Monterrey, Mexico, the trio of sisters - Daniela "Dany“ (vocals, guitars, piano), Paulina "Pau" (drums, vocals, piano) and Alejandra "Ale" Villarreal (bass, piano, backing vocals) - erupt with mind-blowing riffs, unpredictable, stadium-filling rhythms and infectious vocals. After exploding online with viral moment after viral moment, The Warning have used that momentum for a series of independent releases, including the Escape the Mind EP [2015], XXI Century Blood [2017] and Queen of the Murder Scene [2018]. After quietly amassing over 120 million YouTube views and 10 million streams, they have already burst into the limelight of the hard rock world with their debut single on LAVA Records, called "CHOKE", in 2021, which reached over 9.2 million streams (just counting YouTube and Spotify) upon its release, followed by five more singles and a collabaration with Alessia Cara for Metallica’s "The Metallica Blacklist“ album. Their third album called "ERROR" has been released on June, 24 2022. Last year saw them play over 100 shows all over North and South America and they have announced to take over Europe in 2023 https://www.thewarningband.com/ The Villarreal Vélez sisters were raised in Monterrey, and all received training on various instruments at an early age. At some point in their childhood, Daniela and Paulina had selected guitar and drums as their primary instruments, respectively. When the youngest of the three, Alejandra, selected bass guitar as her primary instrument at about age 7, the sisters decided to form a rock power trio. They learned to play rock songs, often via the Rock Band video game series, and posted videos of their performances to YouTube. In 2014, 12-year-old Paulina was profiled in the women's drumming publication Tom Tom Magazine. The band first gained widespread notice later in 2014 when, at ages 9 through 14, their YouTube video in which they performed Metallica's "Enter Sandman" went viral among rock music fans, eventually earning more than 20 million views. The video received attention from Metallica guitarist Kirk Hammett, who offered particular praise for Paulina, saying "The drummer kicks maximum ass!" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Warning_(band) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1boUYB9LFJY
  4. Have been looking at 5 runners that interest me. Sharp 'n' Smart: Classy and looks very hard to beat. Poor value. Desert Lightning: Came from well back and drove to the line. The one that impresses me to beat the favourite. Mark Twain: Jumped awkwardly, back on inside, pulled wide in straight and driven to line. Impressive. Another that looks a top chance at value. Warsaw: Held up in straight, fought on but held. Longshot chance. Andalus: Jumped poorly, settled back, made run inside before battling the last 200m. Needs to keep out of trouble. Desert Lightning and Mark Twain the ones at value for me.
  5. Pete deserves a break. I know the background to setting this site up originally and it took a lot of determination and heart to get it going. Both Hesi and Pete are to be applauded for their hard work and dedication. Great to see PJ and Maxi stepping up to keep Hesi in check 😜 Look forward to Pete throwing out those value runners, it's a learning process.
  6. The right answer is probably the 7th MC winner bred by Trelawney Stud, the 6th out of a mare by Foxbridge

  9. They went to the Moon for propaganda reasons in 1969. There was no need to return. Attention turned outwards towards the planets, Voyager 1&2 explored the solar system and still bring valuable information, we have a probe orbiting close to the Sun, a space station, New Horizons visited Pluto etc etc. All these advances and successes/failures have led to the possibility of returning to the Moon. It is imperative to do so if we wish to continue to visit Mars and one day send the first humans. The technological returns on these missions have been vast. No launch from the Earth can be 100% safe.
  10. "In order for humanity to survive and thrive long term, it makes sense to have a permanent human settlement on Mars as it offers us a relatively benign environment. Doing so would require sending tens of thousands of tons of material from Earth to the martian surface via hundreds of huge rocket launches. That’s pretty much exactly what SpaceX’s Starship hopes to do. Here’s where our celestial neighbor, the Moon, can make things better. Our Moon has a much weaker gravity than Earth, allowing rockets to take off with ease. This was most notable during the Apollo missions, when even a spacecraft hosting two astronauts could gracefully make its way to lunar orbit. Moreover, the Moon lies at the outer edge of Earth’s gravity well, meaning it’s easy to escape our planet’s pull completely if launched from the Moon. Almost five times easier in fact. If we establish a vast, permanent settlement on the Moon first, we can eventually tap into its resources to launch rockets from the Moon itself. NASA and ISRO missions have discovered plenty of water ice on the Moon’s poles. It’s possible that future human habitats built from mining the metal-rich lunar soil tap into this water ice for consumption needs. This water can also be split into hydrogen and oxygen for use as rocket fuel. Rockets taking off from an industrially enabled Moonbase can ride the lunar interplanetary highway to reach Mars more efficiently than from Earth." https://blog.jatan.space/p/the-moon-as-a-rocket-platform
  11. There is nothing easy about launching and completing missions. Once a Moon base is established, the way is open. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_spaceflight-related_accidents_and_incidents

  15. More Than Ready , a foundation sire for WinStar Farm's burgeoning stallion operation and one of the most influential international sires of his era, was euthanized the morning of Aug. 26 at the Central Kentucky farm due to the "cumulative effects of old age." The 25-year-old son of Southern Halo out of the winning Woodman daughter Woodman's Girl is the rare stallion to achieve elite status in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. Out of an extraordinary 216 black-type stakes winners worldwide, 128 (6% of named foals of racing age) found success in the Northern Hemisphere and seven were hailed as champions, and 90 (5%) were successful in the Southern Hemisphere, with six honored as champions. https://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/262591/prominent-international-sire-more-than-ready-dies-at-25

  17. “We’re very lucky to be here in Olympic Stables because the stables are pretty big, there’s plenty of room, and we’re really grateful to the Hong Kong Jockey Club for enabling us to train here, it’s a great opportunity,” Richards continued. “We’re not as close to the entrance to the training tracks as the stables up the top end but we have the luxury of a bit more room here. We’ve got a nice straight swimming pool and an arena, so it’s all about balancing the positives and any negatives really. “We’re very happy with how the horses are settling into the routine, and we’ll start to get a bit more serious in the next couple of weeks.” https://asianracingreport.com/jamie-richards-string-is-making-early-strides-down-by-the-riverside/
  18. The public is largely lazy and like to just buy a ticket for a chance at a large payout. No need for study or worrying about track conditions or anything else. The charity distribution would also be a positive against the dirty, tainted and corrupt racing industry as the public sees it. Lotto will always win hands down
