Hey Curious , I agree with most of your reasoning on Covid mate BUT leave my Captain Hesi alone (Magpies)... at this stage we still hold the Shield and I have his back (the common denominators were 951 races at Doomben over 1350 metres in the last 10 years... This has turned into a political post on Covid (which bores me somewhat) if it wasnt at the expense of buisness and impeding on peoples freedom of choice and lifestyle then it may be acceptable. Not sure why people don't like Michael Guerin. Presents well, knowledgeable and likeable. Emily Bosson, easy to watch, perfect delivery, young, modern, knowledgeable enough. As good as any female presenter in Aus I note the comment towards the end from Guerin, set in stone, if you are not double jabbed you wont be going to a racecourse The Hawkes Bay Spring Carnival was spoilt , now Ch/Ch cup week... with a roll of ribbon and a few fence posts sectioning off crowds into managable numbers with access to T.A.B caravans alongside bar facitilies supplying ...RTDS , Vodka Ready to Drink. Bourbon Ready to Drink. Rum Ready to Drink. Gin Ready to Drink. Beers Ready to Drink. Whisky Ready to Drink. and a few portaloosCrowd numbers could be retained, irrespective of Covid !...Similar to Rugby matches ... JUST A THOUGHT Curious. Sorry guys I am ignorant of the stakes V turnover figures and my comments are based only on a good day at the races (few and far between these days) Covid or no Covid...I don,t know how they managed to get away with the on course crowd @ the Everest, (mostly young)...BUT good on em ! NZ Racing couldn't run a piss up in a Brewery...Covid or no Covid ! My 21 y.o daughter wanted me to shout her into the $80 Party Tent for youngsters @ the recent HB Spring Carnival...(Livermol Day) which her and friends attended previous years (put in the too hard basket & refunded ) Granted, as far as punting is concerned,, the majority of em are just there to get pissed, BUT as for the normally large Public Crowd, I assumed large sections of the Public Stand would be sectioned off (similar to Rugby). Forgive me for being so assuptious and Ignorant of Health and Safety Policies...OR do Covid rules make it all to hard ???

This is sort of going outside the square... BUT, I enjoy, chucking the odd roughy into exotic bets... due to track leader / on pace bias or liking for heavy track conditions or a horses liking for a track, (for whatever reason). One that Springs to mind years back in the wet Tono Bungay ...formline 101010 LOL On pace bias tracks are easy to Identify... not always / dependent on track conditions/Barrier draws etc (wont offend anyone But yeah, juggling up all these scenarios will be the challenge for me , in pricing up an event. Thanks for that Mardigras, The food for thought articles were good reading...I have written down in my little black punting book (Red warwick 4b1 actually) to be read before selecting ea. Fri night/ Sat. morn YOU WILL guidelines. I am very good (from 45 years punting/ equine experience) at determining value and from gut feeling just what horses will drop in F/F markets. Last question PROMISE...(serious...not trying to be a smart arse) It appears to me Baz, You are alluding to try and label $10 shots... I will give it a go ...thanks BUT, will on paper...for my own interest ( take 10 x $2 multi,s to equal the required $20) and (see if I cant get my $5-6 shot average up to 2.5- 3/10) seeing this is light hearted Baz, I can see you saying "now dont be farkin cheeky boy, get ya head down that toilet and tell me what's going on !

Thank you guys for the advice ! I have been punting socially for neigh on 45 years...you have convinced me (with guidelines) How to attack the New Year. I have had a chat to Mumsy and $20 going in her (profit A/C), with bets taken early. (will look more for double figure value) whilst my ingrained/hereditary social punting A/C will also be fed $20. keeps me interested (trebles,all ups etc) whilst at mates, club, races. Thanks again, will write down all bets as a learning curve ! ...and report back in a month.

Your a hard case Baz, and thanks for that advice (again) ...I have short term memory loss (honest)...( I have book-marked all this advice LOL) Sorry I,m also thick !... are you saying don't worry about the 2% idea before you reach $500?...as the market expectation of $6 shots is less than 20% success (2 winners in 10) and from what you have seen me post, I,m not likely to be exceeding that figure.???
