  1. BGP are doing a great job keeping the interest going.Ted and The Goat seem good with the NZ form(stable info etc)but Aus is a totally different beast! I think this showed on both days at Randwick. Maybe some guest tipsters Ian, John and Hesi could be the answer!😁 Can someone confirm if the boys were pounding or pounded
  2. Well done to "The Gang " for getting up in the shadows of the post! 3 Famers with 5 or more winners, shows we are travelling ok! Just shows how hard ,but good PJs comp is! Great effort Hesi! Winter Moss was one of the first on the list when I saw the H8.πŸ‘ Today I will be visiting Argentina 🍷

  5. This is a double edged sword situation! I'm leaning towards Maxi's way of thinking, but not solely for an all weather track and not specifically in Cambridge. But a complete racing complex containing everything so that if a situation ever arises in the industry it can sustain itself and dear I say it corner the market! Build and they will come!
  6. Would have to agree Mardi! A bit like Marmite! But did get the Brexit deal through parliament pretty quickly and was up front with financial support in this current situation. πŸ‘ Here is one for you guys who swing to the political left or right. A company that is classified as an essential workforce in these uncertain times, and when other companies in the same industry are laying off workers etc , have brought forward their pay rise for workers (agreed by shareholders)and have retained their entire workforce, have had it rejected by unions as not being enough! It was made clear that there would probably be nothing in the pot later this year and the company was trying to support their employees! Still rejected πŸ€”
  7. πŸ˜„ BBC Hesi! πŸ˜„
  8. Boris just gone into ICU,but not on a ventilator as yet!Hesi, I think I have beaten the Herald to the scoop!😁
  9. How do you all see the next few weeks/months/years unfolding? Thoughts from a well connected relative as follows. Plus: NZ has a small population, and a low density of people compared to others. Nz population in general is healthy, which deaths should be minimal. Minus: NZ's economy is not big enough to cope with this type of event and the country is going to take while to recover, and we are talking years. The predicted 10 fold in unemployment will be a screen, when in fact the numbers will be up to 20 fold.
  10. Dartboard Stuff here! Toowoomba R2 13 Struman R7 5 Haradify R11 5 Meyer Echuca R2 Johnny Thunder R4 Lady of The Sky
  11. Slightly off topic, but we have moved our clocks for the coming summer GMT. Today(in the real world) I would have been getting stuck into the last day of the Aintree festival! But there is no stopping the Pohms when it comes to the Grand National. ITV 5pm GMT are televising a virtual G N race!πŸ‘
  12. Looks tricky today! R1 1-5 R2 3-4 R3 1-6 R4 2-3 R5 2-3 R6 1-2 R7 1-3 R8 2-3 BB R0 1-2 BB R10 2-7 Good luck Moose, Many thanks PJ All the best Famers Late scratchings please Stevie Leroy
  13. Phillip Schofield is at sixes and sevens since coming out, after being told to stay in!
  14. Maybe I should have left the answer out and posted on the mega quiz!😁 Only Globe would have guessed it!
  15. Here is part one of a story to get the blood flowing before some good weekend racing. In the 90's,a good mate of mine rings to inform me that I am a silent partner in his share( What!!) of a horse left in the stables after the races(What!!).Pack your bag we are off to the winterless north for seafood, drink and racing!(Sure!😁). We arrive raceday and head to the stable area where we clap eyes on our "investment" for the first time! At that point I was feeling a wee bit queasy, and it wasn't from the weekend festivity!Ears like a donkey and hoofs like dinner plates! πŸ€” Cowie, the trainer in the next stall reckons his horse will run in the first three!πŸ™„ I think the race was The Cup that day, trainer(top man) says he is fit,the field is not overly strong, and could be handy for the country circuit in the coming months! But the horse is a "grumpy old bastard "so we are not sure who is going to turn up on raceday!(What!!) Race time and confidence was not brewing on my side of the table, but we had a couple of nice collects in the betting pool in the earlier races. So we spread it over w/p, quins and trif boxed. Rolls home at big money and Cowies horse runs 2ndπŸ€‘.Go you donkey ear, dinner plated good thing!! The horse of course is....Midnight Caller😁
  16. It would be interesting see the breakdown of expenditure in the last three colomns!
  17. With a six month break this is the perfect time to put the wheels in motion and Petone need to move quickly for all involved in the industry. My thoughts were that they are probably going to do away with these clubs anyway! So go it alone, oncourse only or a token purchase system to get around restrictions. Break the shackles and these clubs and communities will thrive! Just my opinion.
  18. Finished my shift this morning and have the rest of the week off! So I am doing my bit for international trade and relations by touring the regions of...Burgandy in France, Rioja in Spain, Mendoza in Argentina and Bristol in the UK ( Session IPA).
  19. Hesi, answer to your thread heading is...the Pheonix is streamlined as much possible for the good of the sport. This situation is going to affect everyone involved in the industry and coming out the other side, major cuts have to happen. I feel this is an opportunity for the community clubs around the country to break away and form their own tier of racing if they choose or fold! It will be complicated, but most (if not all )of these clubs have good racing people involved within the clubs and I believe the local community will support these clubs 100%.
  20. 1st January 1987, biggest collect in the eighties for me!πŸ€‘
  21. Just thought that with all that is going on, that people might want to reminisce with some of your favourite memories and stories in racing, sport, betting coos and oh so close stories etc. I got the racing bug when in the school holidays,I would go to my grandparents and go with my grandfather (owner/trainer)morning and night to the stables, feeding, separating(shit)and cleaning!Loving every minute of it,especially walking the horses to the track through the gap in the hedge at the 600m mark of the Waipa track and watching them work, priceless! My reward from memory was a 50c double on a Saturday 😊
  22. There are lots of questions to be answered by Petone and it looks like they need to use these next 6 months to sort out their house! Also to put the lifes of the people working within the industry and the sport itself as the number one priority. First question for debate with the experienced and knowledgeable people on here is... Who actually owns the TAB? And what is the best way forward and the future for the sport in the next few years?
  23. Looks a bit like Doncaster
  24. I'm just back from a bit of morning exercise so also off the top of my head Vinnie Roe or another Mullins horse
