Could it be that the Karaka Millions are the target for most 2 year olds and the others are not worthy of chasing.

NZR have to turn around this situation and get their Group1s back as targets or else its all downhill.

Yep, the Karaka Million has either stuffed it, there is a lack of quality 2 year olds or Te Akau's domination has scared off the rest, just running for 3rd

You could always put a positive spin on it, without Te Akau, there would only be 2 noms😇

No doubt a few others will late nom but it does show the pitfalls of one stable dominating age group racing.

Sophisticardo, who got 4th in the Karaka millions, that my uncle has a small share in, got gelded after the race and is not due back to race till April.

Late moms, mean after thought, and if we are led to believe how critical timing is for setting for a big race, then it is laughable

I realise Group racing in NZ has been struggling to maintain a standard in recent years, but this does make a mockery of G1 racing
