It's Spring Racing and what better way to celebrate it than to have an interest in each race on one of the biggest days of the year on the Australasian racing calendar, Melbourne Cup Day at fantastic  Flemington 

For the Rules:  Please refer to the Selection Thread   

(But .. in summary $10 x win div, 1 x Quin, 1 x Trifecta and 1 point for Jockey finishing 2nd - $100 to your total if your nominated Jockey has the most seconds by the end of the racing card - no scr replacements unless these occurred after the 12.25pm close - no scr replacements for Jockey selection)

Beaut finishing run by the NZ bred Reliable Man 5yo Gelding out of the Exceed and Excel mare Glory Run to take out the Grey's race on Cup Day.  Naval Envoy ridden by Craig Newitt, a 5yo Smug gelding looked like it was going to take it out until the final few and the fast finishing Standoff made up the Trifecta.  The fave Housay could only manage fourth after getting well back and running on fairly.  No-one has Craig Newitt in their Jockey selections today so no points earned.

Well, what a difference a race makes, and moz has managed to leap frog LFV and put a gap between himself and the rest of the pack after 3.  A Quinella to Lightning Blue shoots him up the leaderboard and 9 other selectors were on the winner with Double R going 3 for 3.

Well done to Jarrod Fry, in his first cup day win on the Written Tycoon 4yo gelding out of a Flying Spur mare Gawne.   Skyman in the hands of Damien Thornton hung on for second for Chris Waller and Charleise with Jye McNeil on board made up the Trifecta.

moz is one fired up Ferdie (his captain will be hoping that he retains this form for Saturday), but the birthday boy Godzstar1 strikes the Trifecta to slide into the lead (this will update next round), with Double R chasing hard, getting his 4th collect in four races (recommend you avoid Rees Robert, he has plans for you).  It was a profitable Furphy Plate for a number of selectors with 6 grabbing the spoils from the Quinella payout.

Lackeen, the Godolphin 5yo Gelding by Shamardal out of Panegyric a Monsun mare managed to reel in Frankie Pinot in the hands of cup day royalty Damien Oliver.   Kerrin McEvoy earned some loyal selectors a point for his second placing on Frankie and the fave Blondeau with JMac in the saddle filled the last trifecta spot.

Gordy and Midnight Caller join Rob as trifecta selectors on Cup Day elevating them to 7th and 11th on the leaderboard respectively.   JustPlodded with a DU ,and jenlove, Steve P and Winfreux also added some gold to their balance striking the quinella, with another 4 selectors cheering the Olly winner home.

The 3yo son of Capitalist, Profiteer, out of the Snitzel mare Athena Lass, was too good in the end for runner's up Direct in the hands of Joe Bowditch and the lovely filly Enthaar who made up the trifecta.

Well, the field that got a sniff of a trifecta in the previous races and have now decided it's time to join in and trifectas have started to flow as plentiful as the champers on Melbourne Cup Day with 8 selecting the Trifecta and 2 on the Quinella, with a large number of win pay outs.    No Double Ups were played.

Godzstar1 still leading the pack heading to the big race of the day, the Melbourne Cup which historically ends up having some decent paying dividends by the time they jump so we may see a few classy moves on the leaderboard following the next.
