The experts strike - yes PARDAO is the chunky bloke - well done VS

NG (and Maria) also correct with Funny fellow's best runner Cariere, a Rodmor product all the way being out of a Rocky Mountain mare.

Pardao won the San Juan Capistrano Handicap at Santa Anita while on lease after racing previously in GB.

Okay in the same vein, here's another one. Big handsome fella who won 10 races up to a mile. He had just one son who stood at stud in NZ and despite a very limited opportunity (less than 100 runners) managed to sire two big race winners - one in NZ, one in Australia. The sire in NZ stood for much if not all of his career in the lower North Island.

The bloke in the photo was also the grandsire of an outstanding world-renowned Champion.

I need to know-

a) the name of the horse in the photo

b) the name of his NZ-based son

c) the name of the NZ-based sons two top performers and their biggest wins.

Too good NG. What gave it away ?

Waitangirua won a Doomben Cup & Underwood Stakes and ran 4th in a Cox Plate.

Who was the Champion March Past was the grandsire of ?

I think she broke down during the running and then was sent to Aus to recover.?

Yep, slab fracture in the last 100m but still won. Never raced again. Yes sent to Oz for a date with Danehill which produced Group winner Tully Dane (later a sire) who also ran 3rd in the Railway Stakes at Ellerslie and later she left NZ stakeswinner Mygoodgrace. She was also the granddam of Ellerslie stakeswinner Tavy and Sydney Gr2 winner Believe Yourself, and 3rd dam of Singapore Champion What's New
