Jurdar was a son of Tehran, the sire of Kurdistan Here is the "racecourse" today-
PWJ
It's Thursday so here's your trivia question: Who is this chunky chap ? He only sired one Gr1 winner (who in turn sired 2 Gr1 winners) but he did have a son who stood at stud in NZ. That son's biggest win came in a dead-heat in England while he was Gr1-placed on the continent. He left one top class daughter in NZ. Today's clue: The subject horse (in the photo) scored his last big race win at Santa Anita as a 5yo.
PWJ
And an additional clue: The top-performed daughter of the sire son of the bloke in the photo, won OR placed 15 times in stakes races in NZ including the Matamata Breeders' Stakes, Awapuni Gold Cup and Avondale Cup

PWJ
The experts strike - yes PARDAO is the chunky bloke - well done VS NG (and Maria) also correct with Funny fellow's best runner Cariere, a Rodmor product all the way being out of a Rocky Mountain mare. Pardao won the San Juan Capistrano Handicap at Santa Anita while on lease after racing previously in GB.
