  1. I knew one fella at the sales who thought the same thing, thought they were cheap, bought 5 They seem to be a little highly strung, have those fast twitch fibres like a sprinter, so maybe more suited to that short course racing USA & Canada provides.
  2. Yeah, should of chucked a bid in on all us Raceplacers behalf's, LB would have been good for 50% with the exchange rate. Stonewall Stud just keep bidding till they get it, kills the competition, good on 'em. Getting some lovely bloodstock to make their broodmare band. Go a little further back in 254's pedigree, you can see Venus Serena & Laver, so good blood.
  3. They looking good, from South Island of course they will be.👌
  4. There's a cheap Bettors Delight, 8K
  5. Did'nt see the $220k for a Lazarus coming, great result.
  6. You look better looking everyday LB
  7. Not while Marks’ driving it
  8. Braless, by Show Off II , 😁.
  9. Thanks for that LB, at least I got a run for my money this time, not like with that other pretender in the blue with the white stars.
  10. Afternoon pretenders😇. $220k top lot, and I’ll even label it as well. Lot 229: Always B Miki-Adore To Our Dreams, Akuta’s 1/2 sister. Can come & eat my backyard lawn down anytime.
  11. Is there a conflict of interest if in fact South Coast Arden were to get a start? It would feel like those on power may have created a race that they can compete in for themselves. Just hearsay at this stage though, and it’s hard in little ol’ NZ to find anyone remotely at arms length from the game.
  12. ….Gets the coveted #1 if he does start…
  13. And maybe Akuta will be starting with Cullen Breeding a holder as well?

Yeah Happy, agree there. Just seen the headlines as well. I’d love to see some independent journalism confronting us(harness) if that what it takes to move everything forward. Shouldn’t be afraid of saying it how it is.

As an aside, this peterprofit person seems to able to slur anyone with ease, and without any consequences, or is he not covered by this code of conduct? Surely free speech laws outweigh any code of conduct for a specific sector?

I fail to see how an ‘independent’ journalist, a professional in their own right, could be pulled up for reporting the truth. Surely NZ is better than that. Surely, how can they be covered by a covenant that has no relevance to them at all? ie, they have no material interest in the industry. I think that would be drawing a really long bow and would be able to be challenged in court.

This mythical creature, this journalist of the independent variety, sure would have plenty to write about Happy, maybe enough for a lifetime.
  18. Ha! She had the sense to leave him there, never ventured over here, but I suppose going to Hobart is about the same? Imagine if he’d won that 5th Interdominion? I think his best one was the last one he won on old legs, tough win at Menangle. He did beat some great horses through his career. Has LB got permission to use Blackie’s photo for his picture? That’s a dollar each way if ever I saw it.
  19. I think I hear someone yelling from the cheap seats out the back, it’s a long way from the front half of the field…Aussies, no surprises there.
  20. I was wondering where LB had got too, realised my binoculars weren’t powerful enough, I’ve got a sore neck looking back that far.
  21. I’m not too worried about winning the thing, I just want to beat that Lightning home. Typical Aussie, he’s probably made his run too early. Go Cashem Race 1. Just beat Cosmic Angel home. ps never thought I’d be cheering for an 8 start maiden trotter on a wet grass track🤞😎.
  22. Yeah , right there Josias. Would have been 4th or 5th string in The All Stars barn , but they would'nt of kept him for that very reason anyway. He's a real grouse horse who found his niche over the ditch in short course racing with his gate speed.
  23. Even the CEO of HRNZ has seen the sense in racing a horse in Aussie that has met it's mark here, Cash N Flow being one of the earliest, still going around earning some coin, just would'nt happen here. Sums it all up really.
  24. Ex NZers 1-2-3. Great to see in some ways. It looks like the manifestation of what’s been going on for a while. We have turned into an excellent breeding ground for the Aussies to come and buy the best, all up and going horses. Maybe that’s what we are, just a nursery. Hard place over here to have one good enough to compete re placement.
