They need to give a staff member $100 and tell him to go bet live on an NFL game. I don’t think they could do it. If any team goes further than 10m either side of the halfway line, all betting is suspended. It only takes a coach to look at his play sheet to suspend all betting for another couple of minutes. Then if it becomes active, you place a bet, it starts counting down and 9 out of 10 times it goes suspended again before the 10 seconds is up. What they don’t factor in is that for every winning bet that they avoided, they probably lost 2 that would have lost.

I will enter the draft. A warning to captains that I have been busy completing a house build and have hardly seen a race meeting in the last few months. So I think I will be making up numbers and hoping…

It takes some of us slow learners about 5 rounds to figure out that 6 x 30 = 180….. BUT 1 x 1000 = 1000 ! One year I will remember back in round 2. 🤔

Yes, and that would be the about the last major title they have ever won. I use only a few sports basic betting rules only: Don’t bet on NZ cricket after a big win. Don’t bet on the Warriors after a big win ( not used much 🤭 ) Don’t bet on Women’s Tennis. Don’t bet on England in a major tournament.

That would be about right. You could probably say the same about many players. I was interested in Max's comment "it's a war of attrition out there, so you can't expect just 15 players to play all 80 minutes". Yes but why have we allowed it turn in to a war of attrition? That is exactly what the countries with less "skillful" players wanted and changed the laws to bring about. So why not think laterally and play a game designed to neutralise the big "pick & go" players ? And 50/50 up and under kicks... really ? Or start with the 2nd stringers and bring on top team when obviously the professional 2nd tier players cannot last 40 minutes 🙂 . But then again to be honest I prefer a good game of league or NFL these days (thanks IRB) so I am not too stressed about it.

An interesting article about Smith and the Ferns last week. He went along to watch a game against a development team and at half time he tells the halfback to "put away the chip kick". Oh for a coach of the ABs with half the insight! The other thing that has bugged me these past years... if the players can't last a game... get out of the gym and onto the roads. Every game ends with a completely different team. And they have "turns" very week. If the "A" team starts the game we shouldn't be watching the "B" team just when the game is on the line. We have been in most close games these past few years. Rugby is (was) a game of combinations, how do you develop these when you have to introduce yourself to the guy outside you every game?

Definitely outplayed in all facets. I am in total agreement. I thought I was wrong in Test #1 but the pay off soon came in #2 and #3. The only losing bet yesterday was that I had Ireland 11-20 and the margin was a flattering 10. Ireland committed men to rucks and played more “old style” rugby. From #2 throwing in, to all the backs aimless kicking, I hope that USA company knows what they are buying in to.

I played rugby from an early age and was seldom away from Eden Park most weekends after age caught up with me. In the last 10 years I hardly watch a game anymore, so unrecognisable the game has become. And I am not alone in this. I challenge anyone to watch 5 rucks/mauls, with the TV sound off and pick what the referee will see and do. Gone are the days of players playing for fun and returning to their career when the back or knee had said “enough”. You chose early in secondary school if you are going to be a “rugby player”. And we wonder why todays players cannot change tactics mid-match. But they can lift weights! I always have a laugh when that KFC advertisement comes on the TV. All Blacks helping at the local clubs… give me a break! The thing I find the strangest in modern professional rugby are the substitutions. When amateur, many stayed on the bench week in and week out, with the best team on the field each week, for all 80 minutes. Yet now everyone gets a turn. No wonder there are no combinations, who knows who will be outside you at any given time in the game. And it shows. Get down to the last 15 minutes when you want your best players and all the reserves are on the field. Fitzpatrick, one of the ABs greatest captains, always took the 3 points in front. “If they want to give us 3 points, I will take them” he would say. As for today’s captain… hmmm.

Come on Bloke, you can't say that in today's PC world! Neither can you say that the TV News very night has lead sporting stories on the Black Ferns, White Ferns, Black Sticks etc, all in front of a massive crowds of 100+ spectators. Lucky I didn't say that ....
