  1. And I found a solution to watching Trackside and betting at the same time, if no longer having Sky… The NZRacing site (loveracing.co.nz) that had a problem with watching and switching to a betting site, without it logging you off, now has a separate iPad app that allows you to stream to the TV and switch to other apps while it stays running.
  2. I gave up watching the evening news and reading NZ newspapers (paper or digital) a while back. There are a few overseas media sites that actually report on news (that affects the world and not what some pop star wore the day before) that I read instead. The local media used to be independent and had "investigative" reporters, but that changed when the government funding model changed to require them to "toe the line" on the government's current woke views on the world. But we are not the "target demographic" anymore. An article must grab the attention and hold it for 10 seconds, before the user swipes to the next page. Reporters just troll the internet copying anything that seems interesting to them. These "reporters" must have views in line with current PC aims and targets while skills in journalism is not really a priority. So no, you are right, this type of story would not be found in today's New Zealand (or should that be Aotearoa) media.
  3. I am still getting over my failed bet on Switzerland “not to score a goal” and then see Spain score a ridiculous own goal that could only happen in Women’s football. But I still think you could put a couple of sides in front of goal, give the entire team a ball each and they would still fail to get one in. But my bet still lost 😤
  4. R1: 1, 3 R2: 3, 7 R3: 2, 4 R4: 4, 5 R5: 1, 4 BB R6: 3, 12 R7: 4, 11 BB R8: 4, 11 R9: 5, 11 R10: 2, 16 Good luck Ray thanks PJ
  5. Jammo is right. Lets face it, anyone picking the trifecta in the first leg today probably is king for the day. That was a nice surprise. Once I did the maths after both hot favourites were scratched in the last leg. The secret to winning.. going outside to do the lawn while leg 6 was on…. thanks for the entertaining comp PJ.
  6. R7 scratching replacement: 16 out, 6 in please PJ
  7. R1: 3, 8, 11 R2: 1, 3, 5 R3: 1, 2, 5 BB R4: 4, 6, 8 R5: 2, 3, 4 R6: 3, 4, 8 R7: 1, 15, 16 thanks PJ
  8. Scratching Replacement: R5 : K8 : 3 is scratched, replace with 10 Thanks 🙂
  9. Same pattern... I struggle with either the first leg or the last. And I was avoiding favs in the last... Anyone doing good in the first & last? We could team up and take all Max's $$$.
  10. I am trying work out how to end up with my horse in leg 4 paying $1.90, $2.90 or $3.90 and not $1.10, $2.10 or $3.10, so i can leap up from "the rest" to 5th. I may have to intervene in the "market" just before the tote closes 🙂
  11. Where about are you going to Pete? Staying in Canada or heading below the border? I was there in 2019 just before the pandemic started and went to both Canadian and US Cities. The US cities had changed and not for the better. The Canadian cities seemed safe and clean, but hotter than I expected.
  12. When only 2 horses can cause you to lose a life…. it pays to have $1.98 on them 🤔
  13. R1: 1, 2, 4 R2: 1, 5, 8 BB R3: 1, 3, 4 R4: 2, 6, 8 R5: 2, 5, 8 R6: 2, 4, 15 R7: 1, 6, 7 thanks PJ
  14. If it is not an amateur drivers race. If your horse is not in a wild gallop at the back. If your horse is not caught 4 deep and not even a can opener will get it out.... Sorry that was mine last Sunday, yours might be the lucky one!
  15. R5: 3 R6: 1 R7: 2 R8: 5 Thanks Maxi
  16. As one who has gone through a Building Consent and Code of Compliance (over 2 year span)... I can only wish 🙂 Or a plague of locusts to descent on the Council building...
  17. Something I have noticed over the last few years… Emily Farr must lead the “number of falls” by a fair number. I hope her insurance company haven’t noticed too.
  18. R1: 1, 2, 6 R2: 1, 2, 3 R3: 3, 4, 6 R4: 3, 4, 7 BB R5: 2, 7, 9 R6: 1, 3, 10 R7: 2, 9, 12 thanks PJ
  19. On a G4 track both the horses I liked in the last managed to get scratched. There comes a time when the writing on the wall is 2m tall and the brown stuff you are pushing up the incline is in reverse. That time was about 6:42pm NZ time today.
