Yes, good horse in the making BUT is its name really  Tie-beet-an ...geez, George !! (Simon) ...a horse (or a person) from Ti-bet isn't called a Tie-beeet-an !!

Yeah, remember a good trotter called Merinai. Michael (lithp) Guerin always called it Merianai.

Funny story. When staying on Sat at Andys in Cambridge before going up for the Inter Finals(and yes we ran a half head second uurggh) I was talking to his farrier and the chiropractor

who was there at the same time. The farrier told us to back Justamaize at Te Rapa, said it would lead all the way. It did. The chiropractor had worked on one of Rogersons trotters the day before ,Delson, and he reckoned it would go real good in the last. I managed to talk to one of the Aussie presenters that night and informed him that in the get out stakes, back Delson, and the story why. He knew Rogerson and had backed his horses before so said "sweet". I hope he didnt lose to much. It ran 50 lenghts last:classic_biggrin:

Nice stories Globe😊,  your name reminds me of one of my great punts back when teletext first came out (you bought this big box that pluged in to your big wooden telly to receive news, weather, most importantly  live tab odds on the day updated every 5 minutes or so)

Global Gee was its name a trotter at the Hutt Park trots, think it was a Saturday as i cleaned up on the gallops that day about $2,000 (big money back then when you're on $5hr) so saw one of my fav horses running that night Global Gee - its one of those break or win horses, it was off the 80 - 100 meter handicap to make it more interesting....it was at about $9.00/$3.00 on teletext just  before left home.

So raced up to the massey TAB westside, Auckland, lovely husband and wife owners, cashed me $2,000 and said $500 on the nose Global Gee, got home 5 minutes later checked teletext Global was at $2.00/$3.30...i thought shit i did that yeha.!

To cap off a great day Global Gee flew the tapes, hit the front after 400 meters all over Ta Lofa🍀

Paid $6.00

Max's strategy for an overall comp win was stepped up today when this screensaver mysteriously greeted the scorer on his arrival at work !

Looks like me ol' mate and cousin Oscar Otter, PJ ...a very slippery Mustelid that one. Very good bridge builder back in the day.

And as they flashed across the line in the last at Ashburton today, Maximus was heard to say:

"I Am A Rock! I Am A Rock!"

And as if by magic, Mrs W was there, whispering into my left ear ...

"You don't have to convince me, Sweetheart ...so why do you have to keep convincing yourself? Now come here and give us a kiss."

Sigh.

Wow ! What a finish ! Had Du'blues won Ray would have finished 1st or 2nd (depending on the Q) and John would have been out of the points but not only did John make it into the points being on the winner but a quinella from Craig (which claims him 2nd spot) and a beaut BB quinella from Steve P which gives him the Round Victory (doubling his haul with a Joker) ensures that John held on to win the 13 Days of Christmas Comp ! Well done Champ ! Jack was the only other competitor to select the Parkes pouncer. At least Ray has the pleasurable consolation of taking out the Christmas Cup (ironically over John) in the Grand Final. Well done to Ray, one of our regular veterans !

FINAL POINTS TALLY

John prevailed in the end with some outstanding tipping with Wrinkles and Ray claiming worthy spots on the podium. Steve P's late finish took him into 5th and Craig's late run earned him 6th place. Roland, PJ, Max and Jack rounded out the top 10. An interesting comp where strategies changed many times for some I think. Some might be pleased to see the back of it !

Thanks to everyone for playing. Have a great Christmas with your family and friends and thanks for being part of our Super Comp family. See you Boxing Day I hope for the new Comp.

A hearty Merry Xmas from us all here.

Mate it's a bit scary. A couple of nights back I didn't sleep too well with one only about 10 kms away. 44c right now and yes the aircon is well and truly cranked up !

Congratulations to John aka Say No More for winning this very difficult and intriguing contest. Great fun and a real challenge.

Mid-arvo yesterday - and this is a true story - I saw a weasel or other such Mustelid - scampering down a big pohoot, and he looked to be in a real hurry. It must have been because a fantail was chasing him or he was scrambling into town for his Xmas shopping. Anyway, Maxi the supreme optimist decided it was 'a sign' for the Mustelid's fortunes at Awapuni, and indeed it was - but regrettably twas a harbinger of doom for the 13th Day of Christmas!

In retrospect, Maximus is thrilled to have finished in ze Top Ten among all these sharpshooting tipsters...and in particular to have deadheated with a certain icon of the game.

57 PJ

57 Max

Woohoo.. catch y'all for the 9 Days of New Year.

Best regards
