Round 4 - Sat Oct 1

Please note: I will be in attendance at Hawkes' Bay to present the trophy to the winner of the Gr1 Arrowfield Plate so can we have a volunteer from each match to score that match next week. C'mon people - no one has volunteered yet !

Premier Day at Hastings makes up the NZ half of our Round 4 schedule. Then it's across the ditch to a high-class Randwick card with the wide-open Turnbull from Flemington thrown in. Be aware that for this week only there is a 3 hour time difference for NZ-Oz due to the Kiwis already switching to Daylight Saving.

The comp's two top scoring teams meet in a white-hot clash this week as the Waikato Chiefs take on the Manawatu Turbos. My money is on the latter but it should provide plenty of fireworks. Newly hailed Championship leaders - The Swamp Foxes - have to repel the raiders from the South in the form of The Highlanders who are keeping their Jokers dry as anyone with a canny Scots heritage might.

Underachieving pair - The Magpies (with a home ground advantage??) and the Kauri Kats - get a chance to make up for lost ground this week but I'm tipping an upset victory for the win-less Kats who must find form soon.

Another pair of disappointed franchises who are locked together on a mere 3 points each after as many rounds are the Blues and Ferdies. Should be a close one but a loss at this stage for either team is gonna be of concern.

Amazingly, only Roland, Richie and Lightning Blue remain unbeaten after only 3 rounds while Max and Hesi are wondering whether swerving under that ladder to avoid the black cat was a good idea as they seek to break their duck (or some other small creature)....

Would loved to of scored this match for you PJ , as we take on these Big Stage Performers !!! 

(of a BLIND rodent, RAY Charles, STEVEie Wonder, ZIGGY Stardust and GARY Glitter ) some of them having a bit of trouble 'seeing' which way the mighty Chiefs went 😄.

but I can't SEE the Nz tote 'divvies' so will have to pass the baton unfortunately. All the best for great Arrowfield Day out for you !!!

Max has promised Mrs W unrestricted access to the Credit Card if she takes the Wee Weasels shopping ALL SATURDAY AFTERNOON and promises not to knock on the door until bedtime.
