  2. I recon that I deserve a mention as a "fly by nighter" I come in periodically and then leave. The last time was when @barryb got on my wick. Merry Christmas Guys. P.S. I got the “highlight” working.

Good point as I too bet as much in Australia as in NZ, probably more!

I am a Specialist! I believe that the % bet over the three racing codes that they said i did, would be 100% accurate. The horse that I backed the most [Thoroughbred] was one of my own so that would be correct. The Pacer that I backed the most was my nephews so again that would be correct. My favourite tracks for both codes were Trentham and Addington, and again no argument there. My biggest single collect was a miserable $480.00, so not happy with that. At least they have given me a free $10.00 bet...LOL

I "binned" mine without reading it. I'll retrieve it and report.
  6. Fair point. Sorry I cant help though.
  7. Quite simply you appear to be a dyed in the wool “right winger” with entrenched views that aren’t changeable, exactly like the Zionists in Israel. You always appear to be having a crack at Labour, the left or in fact anyone who dares to have a different point of view to yours. It is simply your actions that helped me form my opinion of where you stand.
  8. I guess that you think that the Israelis are 100% correct in everything they do, ever since 1948.
  9. Max I am with you and I have made a donation of $100.00 too.
  10. Has she requested legal fee assistance? From whom? If so how much is it? Is that any of our business?

Whatever way the race was run, he wouldn't have won, BUT going forward come the Autumn I think that the 2nd horse will have the measure of the winner.
  13. That’s 100/1 and drifting 😂
  14. A great summing up and never a truer word said than what you say about McNulty verses Nathan Guy.
  15. Isn't the Group One race that Prowess won in NZ the New Zealand Stakes? [Sponsored by Bonecrusher or the Mitchell family] The Bonecrusher Stakes that I know is run in the Spring for 3 year old's. [Listed or Group 3?]

    Karaka

Knows what he’s doing and won’t rip you off either. Whether or not he buys a good one though, is in the lap of the racing gods because irrespective of all the bullshit it all come down to luck with horses.

In NZ, others who bought horses will have bits and pieces available, it’s simply that the majority will be sold in house to their existing client base, but new comers are always welcome. For example because I also have a horse with Tony Pike, a Facebook posting of the stable popped up on my thread to say that shares are available in the Kermadec filly that he bought for $90k plus gst. With her, 10% will cost you $9k + gst, plus a few little costs to buy her, plus of course the Karaka Race fees, insurance, freight home etc and then after that you will be up for 10% of the actual monthly costs. Overall for the year about $4k. [including gst] I am sure Marsh, James and many others will operate similarly. If your favourite trainer bought a horse that you like, for the price you like, give him or her a call. I am sure you will be welcomed with both arms. Given Chris Rutten’s huge successes I would be giving him or Royden Bergson a call because they bough some absolutely crackers for fair prices as Chris always does. One or two of what he bought will almost certainly end up in the Karaka races, as they always do. I say, look further than Te Akau and Go Racing (not that I am criticising either) if you want to get involved. I am too independent a person to be a nondescript member of a Te Akau or Go Racing Syndicate. I want my name in the book for my 5 or 10% share. Disclosure. I don’t have horses with any of the above except T Pike, and the Australian ones mentioned in my earlier posting. Chis Rutten has broken in horses for me in the past. Years back I had a piece of one with R James, so no real vested interest with any of the above but a bit of experience to share.

I’ve gone the Australian way. Currently have horses with Australian Bloodstock & Prime Thoroughbreds. Both use a number of different trainers. My two at the moment at with Kris Lees and Patrick Payne. Average cost per month when in full training is about A$550 for my 10%. When racing though it gets to $650 with Kris Lees. The Patrick Payne one hasn’t raced yet as only two. However in Australia you always get something back from the Club win or lose. Kris Lees and Patrick Payne’s daily rates are A$105 + GST 10% whereas Te Akau is NZ$105 + GST 15%.
  19. Probably because he’s the biggest and boldest.
  20. The problem was, he didn’t attend. I guess that he was always in Hawaii at that time of the year. It’s true that as a lad in ChCh he did spend time working in a trotting stable, Ces Divine’s if my memory serves me correctly. As for having an interest in racing since, it’s about the same as mine in the All Blacks, minimal 🤭
  21. That's a good start. The prime Minister's of the day, always attended Cup Day until John Key came along, then it all stopped. Helen Clark for example never missed a Cup and before her even the hapless Jenny Shipley always attended.
  22. If I had a top class 3 year old, which is the way the breed has been developed lately and wasn't going for either the Oaks or Derby I don't think that I would be running off to Australia at that time, when the Levin Classic is worth $350,000. That's a damn good stake for a 3 year old miler in the Autumn.
