    Mid-week trivia

And so do I, believe it or not!
  2. A damn good reason to not even bother reading what they write.

    Time Flies

Agree. For the record the two that you have mentioned are my picks for tomorrow, even though we have a bye. (I still can work that out!)
  4. The bit that annoys me is that they destroyed the fabric of the Wellington Cup Carnival for this wank fest. BGP is of the same ilk. Guess I am just a sad old fart who was at least able to participate through the the wonderful 80’s and 90’s of NZ racing 😀

Hand timed therefore definitely not official. It can not be recognized as a race, track, NZ or world record or whatever they were claiming.

  7. I am sick of the Trackside people using the words "early doors" I think that they think that they are clever.
  8. They are out now but the NZTR one is the biggest load of crap that I have read in a long time. More rubbish by the idiots who have ruined thoroughbred racing.
  9. Well this is my story: We [my wife and I] have been married for 48 years [I am now 73] and we never had kids. Four years ago [late December] my sister bought a Ancestry DNA kit to try and find out more about our grandmother born in the 1880's, as our grandmother's father was unknown and thus a missing link. There were family rumors but nothing could be proved, because the man in question's two children died without issue, therefore as it turns out there is no close DNA available. [She was hoping to find out for her children's sake and to make it easier to keep up the family history. I of course had no need] Anyway at the very same time [four years ago] a 47 year old lady in Sydney received a DNA kit for Christmas from her daughter, as all her life she yearned to know who her father was, because her mother wouldn't say or couldn't say! A couple of months later when both peoples DNA went into the system you could say that the system bingo, or match up. Both parties received notification that they were only 1 degree separated and both wondered how could that be! The lady in Sydney found my sister on Facebook and contacted her asking how is this possible, do you have any ideas? After a few backwards and forwards emails they concluded that someone close to my sister could be her missing father, and that someone could only be either my father [who would have been too old] or me! Can you imagine how I felt? I was asked if I would do a paternity test which I agreed to immediately, as I wanted to know one way or the other too. Once I started talking to the lady, got photo's, found out where she was born, I was certain that the DNA from Ancestry wasn't wrong and so it was proven 4 weeks later by the paternity test! Fast forward today. I now have a daughter [now] 51 years, three grand children and four great-grandchildren, the last one born 14 days ago. Buying those two Ancestry DNA kits has made two people very happy and all of the families surrounding them. Mine is a good story, many more will be the opposite for some people. P.S. On the very first day that my sister contacted me, my immediate reaction was to buy my own kit and use it. When it arrived my wife said, "you are not using that, I don't want anymore children coming out of the woodwork", so I never did use it. Instead I tried to give it to three of my best mates and they all refused to take it - I wonder why? In the end I did give it away and in a short time it solved another 50 year mystery, and made someone else very very happy. I don't want to say anymore because of privacy, but let me assure you in my experience the kits could not be more accurate!

    Covid-19 update

It is crap. Worked once then nothing since. Unbelievable really. I heard on the grapevine that the the guys that developed it, previously worked for the TAB on their latest platform until recently.
  12. I believe that a placebo is the medication that RITA had been dishing out since they have been in operation, until it changed about 14 days ago.
  13. That’s a bit like like suggesting that all premiership markets should be refunded if there are a rash of meeting cancellations because of weather in the latter part of the season..... and there usually is. No, everything stands and it looks likely that my bet will run second in the First Season’s Sires list.
  14. What about Brian De Lore? He started the charge well before Lichter ever did.

    Covid - 19 Poll

I think that the economic outlook is dire. The GFC was kids play compared to this, unless it’s all over in 3 months. Health-wise for the vast majority, it won’t be a major problem, like the flu isn’t. However for those that are comprised, it will be like many other major illnesses, the flu included, life and death for some.
  16. Why should there be higher costs? Haven't they recently spent approximately nearly 50 million, with annual fees of 18 million to give them the most sophisticated system and thus profitable outcome possible. If not why didn’t they stay where they were? 50 million in the bank and 18 million to spend on salaries for the bookies to beat the customers. 🥱🐎🥱

    Racing Bill

No board of directors would have let a CEO and his advisers spend $40 million + ongoing annualised costs of $18 million on something that they know nothing about, especially if they didn’t have it in the first place and that was exactly the situation about two years ago. No wonder we are in such a mess.
  18. I have given them plenty too, at least by my standards. Because I don’t have a high profile I don’t rate a mention! For God’s sake look a what the National lackies normally give to their party and then judge.
  19. I have been hacked a number of times. Maybe they are targeting you, as they are my friends. It seems that there is nothing that I can do.
  20. That's a setback, for sure. I predict that he wont be seen in NZ again.! Sydney is calling, given the timing required to get over it, the elevated temperature.

    Who could it be

What do you all think now that LJ Molloy’s name is out in the open?
