  1. First Immortal race 9 spose to be best thing of all time today apparently . gunna be a long day waiting for it. Hey great to see the champion New Zealand mare having a go in the Sydney mud. Hope Imperatriz can get the win again.
  2. Another great day of races on the cards . who cares about the TJsmith or Derby when we have Old mate v Showtime and the Reaper v the Seagulls .. all chock full of hard trying runners. excellent stuff. Best of luck PJ with your team today (and thanks for assembling these great race fields as well) and good luck oppo Howie. hope your teams gets through mate TRENTHAM 1) R2 / 9- 13 2) R4 / 3- 10 Best bet 3) R5 / 6- 8 4) R6 / 3- 5 5) R7 / 8- 9 RANDWICK 6) R5 / 1- 9 7) R6 / 6- 10 Best bet 8} R7 / 10- 13 9) R8 / 8- 19 10) R9 / 1 - 3 CAULFIELD 11) R5 / 7- 14 12) R6 / 11- 12 13) R7 / 3 - 6 14) R8 / 4- 5 15) R9 / 3- 9
  3. Some Desparate battles tomorrow at PJ's as Teams need the Win to get into the Finals. The five Reapers are awaiting the arrival of the swooping Seagulls . Will Hesi be ready ? πŸ˜‰ Filming has already begun for the classic encounter 😁πŸŽ₯
  4. He's about to race tonight in an hour or 2 at a Cambridge meeting in a group 2 Karrots. Republican Party is up against some recent Aussie winners and place-getters in Merlin, Sooner The Better, South Coast Arden, Don't Stop Dreaming as well as the old champ Self Assured and the local lad 'Old Town Road' Will be interesting to see if you change your pick for the Cup πŸ† πŸ˜‰after this race πŸ˜†
  5. What's going on here Howie Yowie ?? lol ... bit of a slap at a 'left field' opponent hahaha. HESI thought this also . but ended up down 5-0 against the Max Factory . speaking of HESI and the Ripe Reapers they might be after a bit of retribution for that , so might be better if he stays in the lower half of the ladder and goes for 'President of Nz' status in the President's Cup.πŸ† your STYX team contains some 'stars of the track' in Maizey , RR, Gordy and Smiler who look destined for victory in this Comp, so I might just join my esteemed factory comrades and go on a double figure odds bender this week . just see if that keeps the young Yowie Howie on the Minor premiership track ? or the road to Oblivion ? πŸ˜ŽπŸ‡πŸ˜‰ best of luck old chap.
  6. Vo Rogue from Queensland used to lead them up at a good clip in the Australia Cup as well. and hung on to Win 2 of them. Pride of Jenni nearly as tough ... but not quite.
  7. Thanks PJ . another great days racing for Aussie Cup Day. Go Factory !!! πŸ‡ Hope there's no KAOS multi factory burners today lol. 1. Ellerslie R1 / 1 - 2 2. Ellerslie R2 / 3 - 9 3. Ellerslie R4 / 1 - 10 4. Ellerslie R5 / 1 - 14 5. Ellerslie R6 / 6 - 7 BB 6. Rosehill R4 / 2 - 13 7. Rosehill R5 / 5 - 13 BB 8. Flemington R8 / 8 - 9 9. Rosehill R8 / 3 - 5 10. Rosehill R9 / 1 - 12
  8. If you can't decide on the vote , play this brilliant tune from days gone by , and the fantastic lyrics might help you decide ? If you're Stuck with clowns and jokers.
  9. Exactly it Mardi πŸ†. well done. Better Loosen Up (Michael Clarke) roared away by 5 lengths over the old QLD front runner Vo Rogue in the end. (photo must be taken back up at the 300m Mark or somewhere there.) And with the Australian Cup on again this week-end , those Hayes Boys colours could get carried to victory again by Mr Brightside to see another Australian Cup Win .
  10. no.... but if could be a former Australian cricket captain πŸ˜‰πŸ‡πŸ
  11. Sounds like you could be in Greece there with the figs and olives πŸ˜‰. We could then re-name you EPONA for PJ's comps as well πŸ˜πŸ‡. PJ set a pretty hard one as usual....., but let's go easier and with the theme of this racing Week. Anyone can answer this Trivia of course and First correct answer wins the Easter chocolates !! Who do we have here in Photo ? and what Hat-Trick was prevented ?
  12. going with somewhere dirt and hot and racing for centuries with exotic trees there by clues given so lets try the middle East and go >>>>>>> Iran . Gonbad-e Kavus racecourse PJ ?
  13. Com'on Howie mate. forget all this triple Joker stuff on poor old Hesi this week and the poor old Factory next. you're already in the Finals.. just have a coasting week or 2 πŸ˜‚. What you really need is a Bit of concentrating fully on giving Horlicks a good old 4-zzzzip thrashing this week which will help out four of your "Roughie" Race-Place buddies πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒπŸ¦˜πŸ¦Š who could take up a Finals spot if you can Strut your Stuff mate... we're relying on you buddy.. πŸ˜ŽπŸ†
  14. that sort of thing started a Big fist fight last year in the bar at Albion πŸ˜‚ . Just after Swayzee defeated the current Interdominion and Miracle Mile Champion LEAP TO FAME) in a group 1 at Brisbane in July. I don't think Grimson was giving the answer to the questioning bloke ..lol.
  15. 4th in the NZ Derby Karrots in December... behind (possibly the Nz Cup TRIFECTA this year) of Merlin, Don't Stop Dreaming and Sooner The Better who trifectaed the Derby. Jolimont will need more than David Butcher to get him past that lot. maybe Carter can do it like you say ? gotta beat the Aussies this time round surely ?? see picture of Swayzee further up on this page . very plain really . and might have had the famous Grimson 'Flame-Out ' too ? 😎 But do hope Republican Party goes well for you of course !! since you like that one.
  16. The feeling is mutual there. Something doesn't smell right with that barn. It's crazy what is happening there. Majestic Cruiser from no-where (Riverina area) started the ball rolling jumping out of the ground and culminating with 2nd in a NZ Cup. Just been announced he is taking a horse you guys will know well . Moderate Nz and QLD performer Hot and Treacherous across to the NULLIBOR $1.2 million Slot race in WA. They went over last year with a horse that couldn't win at Manawatu named BETTERZIPPIT and took the $1/2 million first prize. BETTERZIPPIT hasn't won since ,as is not much chop . was just 'Set' for that race like a few Grimson ones are, and they have a lot of trouble recovering . just ask his 2 Interdominion winning horses following trainers . They both never won another race either. no matter where they went .... and there are others too.....
  17. Here's your leaked video too Max of you busting some great moves , from your dance days about 35 years ago. Maxi-Cossack-Hammer.
  18. ok. ..might have to look at the Auckland Cup with Jolimont then . with Akuta off the scene and probably no Aussies turning up. Sooner the Better would be tough though. he's getting stronger too. And your old mate Self Assured is always an Auckland Cup hog too lol. πŸ˜„ He's a won a couple of them already (and 2nd last year to Akuta) so might be running in May yet again. no handicap in the race certainly keeps him well in contention year to year.
  19. seems he has lost his weed Maxi.πŸ˜†πŸ˜‚ stored in a little green bag some where and can't remember where he put it. Great tune you can sing anytime in the shower or whereever, has some amateur dance moves. while ya doing house chores, or some great bass guitar work that is easy for novices, or if a complete learner musician , you just get a Tambourine and smash it along easy enough to the tune. Hope he finds his stash soon !!! 🎢
  20. Don't forget the one I tipped you a couple of months ago for this years Nz Cup Karrots ... JOLIMONT. a fantastic Sweet Lou horse. He has just returned to racing and won Friday night (and last week ) with the Great man Himself MARK PURDON (doing the Very Rare catch driving) driving for Arna Donnelly. No way can ir win the Cup with David Butcher driving , and possibly not with Arna training even. Even though she is doing a Smashing job ( in smaller races with Kango and that) So I Pose You this question >>>> If you were a JOLIMONT owner (there's 5 persons in total actually ) would you now say "Sorry Arna ..Mark could win the Nz Cup or Nz FFA later in the year for me..I'm sending the horse to him " If mine . he'd be on the Picton ferry about now heading South πŸ˜†πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‚πŸ†
  21. One of the Greatest Songs ever made !!!!!! you'll enjoy this one. "searching for some happiness' in Little Green Bag. they're actually a Dutch band. George Baker just a stage-name to sell internationally This is another Video from 1970. Absolutely Terrible video (as all were in those days), where while making the first years of music videos.... they had NO IDEA what to film so they were just walking around and smoking stuff, and drinking for the Video !!! hahaha enjoy !! there's even a nice horse in it lol.
  22. That's true. best thing you've said yet. thank you for the concern . I have a chuckle quite a bit in this thread. I feel , there's been some exciting races and It does make you feel better . your questions seem to show you are trying to understand 'new' old concepts so good on you for that . I don't understand your Slipper Chart market for example but am impressed that people take the time to do that stuff and have skill to go with new concepts. I told Barry , I like Barry's system for example where he bases his selections on where horses are in the running. I find that as a most Vital component too, but don't have the skill to do it on a large scale. I could work out that COLD CHISEL was a huge chance in the Group 1 Great Northern Derby the other night for his QLD owner , as drawn one would be sitting behind the leader . and his chance of Victory enormous therefore. Barriers are important you know , to increase your chances of Victory πŸ†. I think you are probably old enough to understand the barrier draw issues and weight issues that go with Horse racing. Mickey Dee said on TV, it was very awkward and hard work to win with that NZ galloper at MV that beat Quintessa , but he did it anyway from a terrible alley , as is a Fantastic jockey. I love backing his rides. (missed that one though) There was comment about IMperatriz winning from barrier 10. "Barriers don't matter , she still won anyway" . Fact is, She sat 3 wide the whole way . had to work real hard drawn out there, and then cling on late... . and what a gutsy win πŸ† . would of been easier drawn in a bit for Opie but he met the challenge. Nearly any other horse would of been closer to last then first . as Barriers and weights do Matter greatly in your chances of Winning a race ... as everyone knows... but gang mentality sets in and so people won't admit it πŸ˜‰ can't say we didn't try I spose lol...
  23. well patronising then. is that a better word you? . Wonder if we have to explain the meaning of that one to you. your many questions on this thread are often showing a lack of knowledge of horse racing , how weight and barrier draws have been used TO ADVANTAGE on many many occasions over more than hundred years. yes horses can WIN from bad barriers . I travelled with a horse to Nz once for the Biggest race they have at Addington and we drew an appalling barrier . 14 . But Lightning Blue still won the Interdominion anyway . which was a real thrill. was a great few weeks/ years with that horse I can tell you. Your Smart-arse question about posting after the event ,is the SAD post mate. you are Obviously just stirring and seen to all and sundry... and my retort would and should make you sad/bad/ mad or what ever you want to be , and I already said previously How I had selected those winners (well alas Sunshine In Paris didn't win very unfortunately , from the great barrier draw that gave it every ADVANTAGE to win , but came close) Better luck next week . There will be some more winners . and winners are grinners....
  24. Mate can't we just enjoy the racing ? I'm doing fine thank you . Thank you for helping Hesi with his Slipper market. I admire your work there. shows great fortitude and skill to put together your own market like that. you accurately showed Lady of Camelot shorter . excellent work I thought . My best 2 today were Lady of Camelot and Sunshine In Paris. so close to a very nice double collect . but did ok anyway. Your asking these questions is a waste of time as your reactions are poor .. and you are Not interested in my thoughts anyway ?? .so why ask ? can't you just say "Congratulations "and/or" that worked out well" .without being mean ? Instead just posting a grizzling Timing issue where you missed my Tip . sorry you didn't work it out mate . Not much I can do about it . I posted the three tips to nice people here . you weren't one of them unfortunately.
