  1. One course is in NZ definitely, the other going by the image is somewhere in the UK. Jimmy rode Veandercross, and remember him riding Kartika early in the 1970,s.
  2. Looks like the Imperial Air Force have scored some financial help and are in the air again. 😉
  3. Missed it by 2 or 3 lengths. Still coming home like a train.
  4. Damn, second and 3rd with the two Queens., one at 60,s. That was the tri right there in yr other comp. Good horse the winner.

  6. Lydia Ko on a roll. Her swing coach has her driving superbly off the tee. Her short game has always been impeccable. Phenomenal save today for par after fluffing her chip shot, on a par 4 . I can see her getting into the hall of Fame eventually, have always followed her career.
  7. Alex Park this time. Race 1 No 7 No Added Sugar (Sweet Lou, for no other reason) 3rd $1.60 Race 2 No 3 Lightning McQueen (Shown enough to give this a shake) 2nd $2.10 Race 3 No 3 Potter (Quick horse/Sweet Lou/good draw/short odds) 1rst $2.20 $1.50 Race 4 No 3 Halberg (The Purdon/Phelan factor , should go close) - Race 5 No 3 Leo Lincoln (Precocious Art Major and first time over the sprint, could lead and win at overs on the tote)- Race 6 No 2 Throwyaarmsaroundme ( Sweet Lou/good draw/should be tough) 3rd $1.20 Race 7 No 3 Fernleigh Cash ( Longshot to run a place/back to sprints and mobiles, with Alicia Harrison up) 4th Race 8 No 4 Minjee (Solid mile rates and could lead them a merry dance) - Race 9 No 6 All Cashed Up ( Surely this time, has the ability but does make it hard for itself) 2nd $1.60 Race 10 No 6 Xcite Me ( unlucky so far, sticking with it ,just needs luck from the draw)My BB for the night. 3rd NTD Disappointing runs by some One win ,2 seconds . 3 thirds. $20 spent $10.20 return. Remind me to stick to Purdon/Phelon. 👍
  8. Max, Australians don't need pills. The first thing to get sunburnt on an Aussie is the top of their tongue. lol
  9. It's a heavy metal band from the USA actually.

  14. I got sore knees Pete, from the first race onwards. lol
  15. Lets see if we can stop the rout in the last two.
  16. Does anyone get that nagging feeling we may be getting a runner up prize today. 🥴
  17. He seems like he has plenty of integrity and an understated persona. Unlike that numbskull Jones . And obviously a very good resume. It would be nice to see Aussie back competing again ,but with the state of their feeder system from juniors (or lack of) good luck to him, he is going to need it in spades.
  18. At first I got out the shovel to start filling in the hole , but thought hmmm ,still nine races to catch that total. Thanks for making the day interesting Gordy. NOT. 🤪
  19. R1 3-10 R2 3-6 R3 3-12 R4 7-13 R5 2-6 R6 6-10 BB R7 2-7 R8 4-7 BB R9 1-6 R10 1-4 Go well guys up against a Triple Joker today. All the best Gordy. And cheers PJ as always.
  20. Gonna put my reputation on the line tonight (presuming I have got one at all) CAMBRIDGE R1 7 Jocas Hill Nicely bred, but iffy in its gait so far, but talented enough to blouse this lot. 1rst $2.20 $1.60 R2 3 Shez The One Did it tough as fav last time and I love the Sweet Lou,s 3rd $1.90 R3 10 Alana 8 win horse down in grade in a mediocre field. 4th R4 1 Xcite Me Out of Alta Serena, and good draw 5th R5 8 Majestic Ruby Should be thereabouts second up. 2nd $2.70 R6 5 The Surfer Talented looking horse and best draw yet. 1rst $1.90 $1.50 R7 6 D.J.Rock Shown enough in a limited career to do well here. 3rd $3.10 R8 3 Sweet Olivia Very risky but has heaps of ability 2nd $2.50 R9 5 Lou Baby Stick to my Sweet Lou,s 1rst $1.60 $1.00 Bolted in. R10 11 Ima Sporty Angel Wide draw but has shown enough to do well here, with the right run. ----- R11 2 Montana D.J Running minor placings and not out of turn for a win. 1rst $3.10 $2.00 Four wins, two seconds , two thirds . $1 each way. 10 cent profit for the night. Probably a waste of time with such short divvies.

    A question

My take on it and I am using experience here talking to my son in law is that (and PJ may agree here) a horse can be selected on confirmation first and then pedigree. Pedigree alone guarantees nothing. Andrew only has a cursory look at the sales catalogue, and then views every horse and makes notes, which he takes into the auction ring. Tavistock was a prime example of sight first and bought on that premise, and the fairy tale began. $57 grand for 2.5% share in a nag chosen by someone you don't know ,relying on their reputation alone, a yearling to boot, so anything can go wrong before it hits the track so its potentially a money hole. . My presumption is that there is no insurance on your investment, someone could elaborate for me on that. It never ceases to amaze me the amount money spent on thoroughbreds. Much cheaper for us gypsies.
  22. It was the first thing I thought of Hesi. I never bought into the stress excuse. Some underlying character traits that haven't been dealt with and were exacerbated by a "cant touch me " mentality in a position of power maybe. ?. Pity really for an obviously intelligent /attractive human being.
  23. Hey Mardy, just an idea . I used to put up 2nd and 3rd placings as well in the totals. So far today you have two seconds already, and they do count in the dollar totals in the end . Just an idea.
  24. Close , I always take Kelly Schweida horses and this had a decent draw, at great odds . Great minds think alike.
