pete
A bit of a fun poll. If you answer 'some other filly' feel free to name the horse in a post.
Sandpiper
Top 2 look strong not my idea of a betting race in general though being something of a warmup for many. Grand De Flora worked her way into the race well last time having gone back from the draw. She's one I can see getting amongst JE and Two Illicit come Oaks time. Will have a tickle e/w if price holds up at 16s+ on the tote.
Hesi
Daffodil is the mum, who won some pretty good races
Sir Gallivant
Of the two suggested Loire simply on the draw ..... My choice would be a maidener Starring Role ..... its four runs to date this time in has been very good and in two instances a little unlucky .... if she is well positioned in the run and the breaks open for her at the right time could be the one ..... paying $41 on f/o will have a wee bit on her myself. mardigras
I have Loire rated on top from JE. But I'd be on Lavaglo who I've priced at 10s.
curious
I have both Loire and JE equal top rated at 2.50, so neither backable. With Barry here. The only real value I see is $41 and and at very long odds $151. Little bit of value Belle Plaisir and Queen Kamada.
Hesi
On 1/16/2020 at 3:17 PM, Maximus said: No one has yet mentioned the smoky in the field ...SHOWBEEL. FF $9.50 is tempting. Lightly raced but talented, 3rd in Eulogy, then tough run wide in the Eight Carat. Showbeel is by SAVABEEL out of Showileo, a grand-daughter of Showella, who was a SA Derby-winning grand-daughter of champion SHOW GATE. Showella left NZ Cup winner Showcause. Winning family! Baker/Forsman polish, OP aboard, should get a much cosier trip than last time and has already won left-handed (maiden at Rotorua, beating Bergamot, which went on to win at its next start and subsequently finished 2nd to Two illicit in the Royal Stakes). Chicken-livered bookies have Showbeel at $9.50 to win the Desert Gold on Saturday ...and the same price to win the NZ Oaks two months away!! Plonkers! Well sighted Maxi, hope you backed it
