gotta have a blood test every 3 months to make sure i'm not getting stupidier.Went for a stroll this morning to my local and there were 4 signs on the door

1.. Telling everybody who they are

2.. Hours of business

3.. mask wearing is a must

4  shut due to staff shortages.

Bit of advice, take 3 of them down and leave the main sign,SHUT,showing.

We could have told you the answer to that without the need for a blood test lol

story continues..

Tues...rang the local lab ....yes we are open....stroll down only to find that they won't accept my form because it is over a year old. After a perusal of the form  i agree but point out to them that the last test i had the form was over a year old then.

No must get another.

Rang the specialist , WED awoke  to find a new cert on my phone so once again i stroll down to the local only to find them shut  and the rain beginning.

Happy days

Best bet of the Spring of 2023 ..Labour to lose in a landslide of epic proportions.

MM

PS: whey\ther any decent Kiwis of voting age still want to live/work/play/invest here by then is another matter.

Max has been 'on the road' the last day or two and is still awe-struck by the natural beauty of this land. Whatever our origin, we are all so fortunate to be here.

The best advice is just ignore all that and drink more red wine. Keep fit and eat a balanced diet, watch more porn and punt more often. There you go, I eclipse any fucking doctor with the best advice for you.

You're onto it Barry.

Are Ruakaka hot dogs part of a balanced diet? 🤔

In a different setting, our doctor is one of my wifes best friends

Creates real issues at times, when she starts laughing when my shirt or pants are removed you just know its not a positive sign.

I always joke with her when getting the prostate check, that in a different setting I might enjoy it and she might also. Haha

Hahahaha classic

The normal procedure is to ask if you would like a second person present in the room

Its bad enough having 1 person watch me getting fingered, I aint having another perving.

Maybe you Labour voters love that stuff.

just changing the subject at this point ...how bout we discuss ..i know...the racing yesterday where the tuf meets the surf.. Interesting comment from a trainer:

Fawcett was delighted to get the result at Ruakaka, a track she said has been a godsend for northern trainers during the wet winter months.

“They have certainly copped the rain up there but for the track to still run like it has, has been fantastic,” she said.

Not a fan of blood tests, because I struggle with needles.  But the reality is, as you get older, you need to have them.  The technology for detecting stuff, has become so advanced, that you can pre-empt potential health issues.

My yearly blood test/urine test came back perfect. Losing weight, getting cholesterol down, glucose well down and my type 2 diabetes is in remission (2 years now). Blood pressure down. Had to go to podiatrist and I am above average for blood flow in feet. Only thing I wish to get up is my betting account balance. Not bad for an old fella.

I have been having regular blood tests for a number of years now, and just as well, as around 3 years ago my PSA level shot up all of a sudden. I got the finger up the bum from my doctor who didn’t feel anything abnormal, but since I have medical insurance he sent me off to a urologist. To cut a long story short 3 months later I had my prostate out. For the following 2 years I was getting my PSA checked every 3 months, and thankfully it’s come back good.
Whenever I am due for blood tests I just get a text from my doctor advising me to front up at a Labtests collection centre and give them my name and it’s on their computer with what tests need to be done, and luckily for me the needle doesn’t bother me.

I had something called prostatitis(look it up), last year, a recurrence from ages ago.  Had blood tests at 11 am, doctor rings at 5pm the same day, saying your infection markers are so high I am considering hospitalisation as worried about sepsis.  Immediately on antibiotics for a month.  So as I said they can tell so much from blood tests these days.

So in response to your initial post NG, only have good things to say about our supposed broken down health system

... bit worrying to see the Auckand radiation oncology dept copped a D rating for a while and they feel much better now cos it's up to a C.
