Grateful thanks.

I am okay, just taking some time out.

Robert.

That's good to hear Robert. Just a little humour which I'm sure you are appreciative of. Hope you are fit and well and we see you up and competing by Saturday

Be careful RR.. you don't want to mess with your posting rhythm 🤗

For sure Maria.

Remember in the old days, when the stayers could sprint well fresh up.  I am hoping a few days out in the paddock will have refreshed me, especially when it is full on for most racing people, and I have been in rarefied air braining!!!

Baker to have Hunter and Beauford contenders

Warwick Farm-based Bjorn Baker will have two contenders for the feature races at Saturday's meeting at Newcastle. Prime Candidate (Denman) will head for The Hunter while Kiss The Bride (Savabeel) will take his spot in the inaugural running of The Beauford (2300m). The latter has been in solid form this season, winning at Randwick in September before finshing third in his last two starts in the Spring Mile (1600m) and the Rosehill Gold Cup (2000m). "He's got to carry a bit more weight but we're really happy with how he's going," Baker said. "He's been running really well and he's got a good gate (five) on Saturday, so we'll just put him in his comfort zone." Prime Candidate will head into The Hunter on the back of a third placing on Melbourne Cup (Gr 1, 3200m) day behind Quantico (I Am Invincible) in the MSS Security Sprint (Listed, 1200m). "Robbie Dolan on, good gate (three) and he won't know himself with 54 kilos," Baker added. "It's a tough race, no doubt about it, but he couldn't be going any better."

  • Kokoro Aiming to Make Real Spring Impact

    Weekend, 12th November 2021
A field of twelve 3YOs has been assembled for Newcastle’s Gr3 Spring Stakes (1600m), with the John O’Shea-trained Kokoro (Real Impact-Close to My Heart, by Fastnet Rock) looking to continue the recent run of success by Arrowfield Stud’s Japanese shuttle stallions. A winner last time out at Goulburn, a successful move recently made by the Chris Waller-trained Fangirl who graduated to winning at Listed and Group 3 level at her next two starts after her Goulburn success, Kokoro’s almost 3-length win impressed. Jumping from barrier 10 with Hugh Bowman in the saddle, the Gilgai Farm-sold, Inglis Premier yearling sale graduate is well in the betting and looks a solid chance in an open race. Off the back of winning her last three starts, including two at Goulburn, the Matthew Smith-trained Festival Dancer (Choisir-Festival Princess, by Barathea) has been posted as the race favourite with Anthony Cummings’ entry Dufresne (Hinchinbrook-Steflara, by Zabeel), a last start second in the Four Pillars, another who looks a solid chance based on being under double figure odds in the betting. An interesting runner is the Arrowfield Stud silk bearer Red Boulevard (Visionaire-Strawberry Lane, by Jallad), with the sister in blood to last season’s South African Equus Champion 2YO Colt Good Traveller (Visionaire), breaking her maiden last time out over 1400m at her third time of asking.

The Hunter Second Up for Dawn Passage

Weekend, 12th November 2021

Somewhat of an enigma in that he is often hard to catch from a punter's perspective, connections of the talented Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott-trained Dawn Passage (Dawn Approach-Raja Lane, by Devaraja) would be more than overjoyed with his $1.6m in earnings, with a large portion of that coming from his third place in last year's $7.5m Golden Eagle (see below), followed by his second in The Gong the following start. Set to line up in Saturday's $1m The Hunter (1300m) at Newcastle, the Mill Park Stud-bred and Inglis Premier Yearling Sale-sold Dawn Passage comes into the race second up from a spell, having been beaten over 5-lengths first up in the $1m Classique Legend Stakes when finishing eleventh of 14 behind Eduardo (Host). Still an entire, connections must feel the 5YO still has some very good wins in him, hopefully ensuring his place a stud in the near future. Ridden by Tim Clark in many of his recent races, the hoop will once again partner the Gr3 Fred Best Classic winner and, from barrier 6, he should be able to sit comfortably a few pairs back in the run. Co-trained Adrian Bott feels there is good improvement left in Dawn Passage after his first up run. "I'd say, coming into this race, I think he's open to the most improvement out of all those other horses that he faced," Bott told Sky Sports. "He bumped into a few who are deep into their campaign and are specialist sprinters. I thought he ran a really good race…"

this will be a fab PJ Comp. No place to hide. One pick only; no teammates covering your pathetic or woteva performance.
