curious
Well, I've gone for a barryb type trixie. Nature Strip, Star Safari, Coltrane. My sleep patterns will determine if I watch them live or not but it sure is some card.

karrotsishere
Sorry jumping in here to say, Phar Lap is on Netflix now. If you have not watched it & are on Netflix. Check it out. Oh my. I cried thru some of the parts. The opening frame - "he wasnt just a horse. He was the best" The closing frame - "he wasnt just a horse. He was the best". Sounds like this Ascot affair is RIGHT up there. Above anything Phar Lap did. But it did say at the time, his final race in which he won was the richest race in the world at the time. Go the Kiwi/s in Ascot. PS Go the Kiwis tomorrow too, in the Soccer World Cup qualifier against Costa Rica.

Some highlights from my prices. 4 winners (and 1 second) top selection - 2 at decent overs - Nature Strip and Coltrane (Nature Strip started at 3.11 and Coltrane started at 21s) Also 2 exactas, but Lusail at 30s with Coroebus not bad, and close with Coltrane/Arcadian Sunrise. And to top it off, 2nd rated Dubai Future at big value also wins at 25s. Well done Curious with your trixie! Sad about Star Safari - hope he is OK. Hope you had a good day. curious
Yes. Partial success. Star Safari didn't look good. Can't find a report. The NZTAB obviously fell asleep after the 4th and have posted no results or processed any bets after that. Way too easy for Nature Strip. Very impressive. Wonder if he runs again next week. Thought Coltrane was very good also - threaded a tight gap and was strong to the line. Nature Strip - nothing seemed to be running that strong against him. Maybe just too superior. mardigras
Day 2 prices currently for me Quite a lot of variance with available prices - some very big fields, so nabbing one would be a great result.

craigos1
Well what a night Day 1 was, Obviously Nature Strip was the highlight for me , Baaeed not far behind. On my Twitter feed good to see Steve Hansen high fiving other owners in the stand. Disappointing for Sir Peter Vela & Sir Mark Todd that Tasman Bay over raced early and was spent before the turn. -$40.00 Day 2 1:30 R1 10 Love Reigns @ 4 2:05 R2 8 Ruler Legend @ 17 2:40 R3 2 Lord North @ 8.5 3:20 R4 5 Mother Earth * @ 3.75 4:00 R5 22 Rebel Territory @ 19 4:35 R6 18 Silencer @ 51 5:10 R7 17 Haziya @ 6 Edited June 15, 2022 by craigos1
Midnight Caller
Slow out of the gates this morning! Not a bad day yesterday, but we have to remember that this is a stayers event. curious
What? Starter lets them go with Royal North standing in the gates with the blindfold still on! Dettori has to sit there and take it off before he can join in. You expect that sort of thing to happen here but at Royal Ascot?

Intellogent at 50s (at 75s 5 minutes before start), nearly did the job. A fair effort on what looked a reasonably difficult day to get a handle on. Both the placings started at good value - with Intellogent at 50s (9.50 top 4), and Lord North never had the chance to contest the race State of Rest won at small value from the top 3. Hope you had a good day. James McDonald must be thinking this is all too easy. Another win overnight from I think just the one ride. Midnight Caller
Day 2 has always been a little tricky Mardi!. A couple of collects on Dramatised and Saffron Beach, what might have if she had a decent ride in The Oaks last season! Loss of just over 2pts today. Have more antes lined up for day 3, headed by a horse I'm really keen on that was at double figures Brave Nation.

Yep - that's why I didn't put up anything on here for the day, looked a risky day - the big fields are good betting events so worth a small investment, but not easy to snare.
mardigras
My current prices Day 3. I'm potentially looking at R1 #11 Pillow Talk (available at 9) - not generally big on 2yo races - and this looks an interesting field. No bet for me in the Gold Cup - but I'd love to see Stradivarius win it again. R6 #2 Cresta (available at 18.5) - I'm prepared to take on the extreme hot pot. R7 #7 Vafortino (available at 12.5). Will James McDonald get another win on #27 at 16.5? Another I'm looking at in the first is (2yo race small interest) R1 #6 Redemption Time (available at 30)

curious
Well just a fun multi Pillow Talk, Cresta tonight. Was going to throw in Stradivarius but the NZTAB seem to have closed that market.
