PWJ
The Magic Millions race day has been abandoned after jockeys voted to call the meeting off following the running of the second race. Stewards, along with senior jockeys elected to race on a "race by race" basis following the first race, but quickly called it off following the running of The Debut. Footage of James McDonald's horse Desperately slipping on the turn was shown to the riding group, who then voted to not race on. "It's unsafe," McDonald said. The Magic Millions had continued on a "race by race basis" after jockeys couldn't make a concrete decision on whether or not to pull their services following the first race. After inspecting the track with senior jockeys, chief steward Josh Adams downgraded the track to a heavy 10. "We believe it is a genuine Heavy 10, if the riding group hasn't withdrawn their service, we will continue on a race by race basis," Adams said. Senior jockey Larry Cassidy said there was a troublesome patch on the turn between the 500m and 300m mark. The mega rich Magic Millions meeting had sensationally been put on hold after one race due to the state of the track. The Gold Coast racing surface, which is due to be ripped up on Monday was heavily irrigated during the week, but unforecasted rain on Friday night and Saturday morning wreaked havoc on parts of the track. A group of senior jockeys approached stewards after the first race complaining of a lack of traction when rounding the turn, along with a lack of visibility. "It goes from a (Soft) six in some patches, to a genuine heavy," leading rider Ben Melham said. "I struggled to gain traction the whole way around the circle." With the rain forecasted to clear, chief steward Josh Adams had elected to put the meeting "on hold" after the first while they inspected the track and eventually went ahead with the $500,000 Debut, race two but that was as far as the meeting got.

The lowest rating in that field but I think he will come on.
PWJ
A couple of mistakes have been corrected. The Believers should have been matched against the Ramones & Kelly's Heroes as directed by Captain Smiler. This has now been adjusted in the recent score updates. Also Wrinkles big BB quinella was wrongly calculated by me awarding him $68 too much. His and the Kelly's Heroes score has been corrected. Sincere apologies all round. Had a few technical issues today with new computer and office set up and must have got distracted.
