The first two trifectas in the comp are struck by Secret Squirrel & Jamison but the latter adds a beaut BB to surge to the lead. Robert and Pete move into the top half dozen snagging the quinella. Also struck by Smiler, Gordy, Wandering, Maurice & Rex. Wessex - paying $34.80 - gave 17 competitors huge hope of a big return but it just failed to see out the trip ! In the HTHs Jamison jumps ahead of Gee. 37 points on offer to today's winner.

Secret Squirrel & Ian bagged beaut BB trifectas to scream home and grab the top two slots while Tassie also snagged the tri to secure 3rd place. Stevie N (BB quinella), Graeme (1st/3rd) and Wandering (quinella) filled out the top half dozen. In the HTHs Robert came back to beat Roland, while Ian's big finish saw him run down MC. Smiler snags the TF on his own to go well clear in the lead while Ian's BB quinella sees him shoot up to 2nd. Pete also gets a BB quinella to go 3rd. In the HTHs Ray has rolled Jamison, Midnight C has raced ahead of Rx, Steve P has galloped ahead of Geoff, while Gordy has re-passed Sarah.

 

I was so close to making that race my best bet, but decided on the last race at the last minute before posting.

Smiler - the only competitor to bag two trifectas today - ran out an impressive easy winner while Ian held on to 2nd despite missing in the last. Gary made up 3 places to secure 3rd with a BB on the Waipuk wuffie in 3rd. Good efforts from Pete, Gordy & Ray rounded out the top half dozen. No one tipped the Burgundy longshot winner in the last. In the HTH's a late last gasp win so Graeme run down NG for the bonus 5 points.
