Yes they would be, the important thing is to create a team around you, to support you on the way forward - outside your natural hunting ground.    As there are so many little pockets trying to protect their territory you have to have a team that can spread the word and create a path.    I know it's easy to say well I'm in the Waikato and this is my patch and I want this to excel, but in the long run it's more than that now for harness racing in New Zealand and you have to ensure that all of NZ is advancing to the same beat of the drum or at least contributing to it.

That is not happening at the moment. Not one bit with the current administration.

Cambridge may host early March ATC meetings too. Nothings confirmed, just a possibility I hear.

Feel really sorry for ATC.

They are victims of a natural disaster.

Agree Karrots. I certainly wouldn't be a surprised considering the amount of rain Auckland had, and the water that was around the track, and the buildings.

Hey there is a bit of irony there , as the ATC had a huge windfall 12 years ago in March 2011 when they got to host the Christchurch Interdominion Championships when they had the awful 'natural disaster' down there in 'The Shaky ' Isles. the earthquake.

The Interdominion  transferred to Auckland from Addington as a result of that natural disaster.

>>>>>>>and probably cost Nat winning her 5th Grand Final with great Queenslander Blacks A Fake as reckon she would of won at Addington with him. Gary Hall Jnr winning with the right hand track specialist (double Auckland Cup winning) I'm TheMightyQuinn at Alexandra Park instead.

Often get that QLD Albion Park too. as They call it the 'Creek' lol....  Breakfast Creek at the back of the track often tips over in a king tide and starts to fill up the bowl .. horses love a swim in Qld though so all good hahaha.

Here's how they ended up last February 2022,  when we had a touch of that Auckland rain as well.

Ps back to topic.

North Island trainers & owners have been emailed for feedback pre forums.

Some Northern owners still havent received the email. DR perhaps you could find out who they need to contact for those that want to give online annoymous feedback? Make it as easy as poss for them to participate.

Heard some havent bothered & dont plan to also which is fine, but important for those that want to participate to be able to participate.

The survey is anonymous and being run independently by Strategic Reality, so please tell us your honest views.

We’ll be running in-person workshops in early March (in Palmerston North and Karaka).

At those, we’ll share back what we’ve heard, and work with you together to proactively identify the priorities and solutions for a positive way forward in harness racing.

Thanks so much for your time and contribution!

Cheers

Independent Project Facilitator – Strategic Reality Ltd

NB. Harness Racing New Zealand is fully supportive of this process being led by Cambridge Raceyway on behalf of the North Island and welcomes feedback on your agreed way forward.

Ill try & get the intel Iv been told so can post facts re ATC taking credit. But cant for sure say I can get it as Ill be begging lol.

Anyway this thing is an alleged court case but its hear say. Apparently ends tomorrow.

Lets check in tomorrow and see.

Ps Iv decided to sell Sweetie with regret. Sad. But dont see the future or racing in NZ as viable.

A sad day for me & Sweetie 😪

Im feeling very sad about this decision.

Good on you for giving it a go Karrots, and you can bow out knowing it is not for you, given the racing climate in New Zealand.

Cheers.

Robert.

Thank you DR.

Yes, Im just very concernred about her after racing life. It just about brings me to tears. I have 5 days to back out of the deal.

So I have now seen for sure the evidence re ATC have been telling their members that they were the ones that contacted Cambridge initially & they were the ones that wanted to meet with Cambridge. And they were the ones that inititated the clubs get together. I was told not to share it publically but I have it in my inbox, so push come to shove I have it now. Man they are the BS artists.

The court case also Iv heard is about unpaid wages to an ex employee or an employee or similar. Those are the final details Ill get. So lets see what comes up in news possibly tomorrow NZ time.

For those that are wondering why Im still posting here. If you are in USA and have a medical condition, you cannot get a green card. So its best to go home to your home country and get treatment there, that way things will go on your home medical only. Not your USA medical. Very seperate. Thats all Im willing to share.

Miss you all and love how cool this site is.

You have made the right decision Karrots, as you need to be comfortable and settled in yourself, and having a "what if" hanging over yourself with Sweetie, is not good for your general wellbeing, and life is too short, and much credit to you for having the courage to decide to not to carry on with Sweetie.

You have made enough connections on here to be able to follow other members horses, and get the enjoyment from their pursuits.

Cheers.

Robert.

BTW speaking of Sweet Lous I see Hey Bartender has been transferred to Telfer Stable.

Hey Karrots *No great surprise at all, considering James Stormont is now fulltime employed by Stonewall Northern Team.

From same date Feb 1st,his other horses Bertha's Pride & Special Effects also transferred to Telfer Stable.

As such,no doubt James will retain his driving association with Hey Bartender.

Disclaimer *I've always followed JPS since he drove my first horse to victory in 1990,when Junior Driver for his brother Mike Stormont.😃

Also attached to Stable then was a young Brendon Hill,& local Policeman Geoff Knight, who both followed very successful Training Dreams.
