3 KAURI KATS (5th)

$909.40

St Lawrence had nothing left in the tank and faded badly denying the Joker-playing Ferdies the win although MVP Heather (with a BB) and Geoff added to their aggregate in the last. The Kauri Kats all missed but will enjoy the 2 points for the win with Captain max for once the Man of the Match - well done Maxy.

4 MAGPIES (1st)

$1390.60

The Magpies had it won before the last where they all - bar Secret Squirrel - found the pacy Pinn winner with Antz adding a BB. Steve P was a clear MVP for the vanquished Chiefs while Ian was Man of the Match for the victors who took bonus points for a 4-1 margin and achieving a team profit in the last.

2 TURBOS*** (7th)

$1144.60

1 (x 3 Triple Joker play) = 3 points

3 BLUES (3rd)

$850.40

2 points

The Blues fought back to win the match in the last with Pete bagging a BB to bolt past Blind Squirrel for the win denying The Turbos 3 points. Roland and Zig each with BBs and Gordy also tipped the final winner. The Turbos escaped a deduction with a superior aggregate translating into 3 points helped in no small measure by Man of the Match Our Maizcay. Pete pipped Smiler for Blues MVP honours.

435.60 Our Maizcay

116 Roland

163.40 Gary

221.80 Smiler

182 Ziggy

79 Gordy

2 HIGHLANDERS*** (6th)

$1242.80

1 (x 3 Triple Joker play) = 3 points

3 SWAMP FOXES (4th)

$927.60

2 points

French Emperor raised the Otago boys hopes on the corner when a win by him would have translated into 12 points with the Triple Joker play but he couldn't catch the winner so they had to settle for a point (x 3) for a higher aggregate. The Swampies held on to win but failed to score in the last where Howie got his 9th straight winner and was a hugely impressive Man of the Match. Captain Maria was MVP for her side who are no doubt happy with another win.

129 Rob

305 Maria

182 Midnight Caller

62 Rees

109.20 Tonka

203 Punter Pete

147.40 Craig

4th 9 SWAMP FOXES* $4839.80

5th 8 KAURI KATS* $3466.80

6th 6 HIGHLANDERS^ $4281.20

7th 5 TURBOS^ $4661.00

8th -1 CHIEFS^ $3152.60

^ Triple Joker play

* Double Joker play

A win for The 'Pies increased their lead at the top to a handy 3 points while The Blues (also winning) climbed over the Ferdies to secure 2nd with the 'Naki crew dropping back to 3rd. Wins for the Swamp Foxes and Kauri Kats saw them hold station as did the Highlanders and Turbos despite slightly disappointing Triple Joker plays. It's back to the drawing board for The Chiefs who remain in the cellar.

Blues are winning like the Warriors at the moment. Scrappy but effective.

Looks like the Warriors are assured of 3rd and Penrith looking like they might be 2nd, so scrappy will have to lift several notches, as they will be playing each other

Blues now 4 wins in a row, and we have to thank Pete for getting us up in the last yet again.

Thanks Turbos for a close one that went to the last.

My scores have been going lower as each week goes by, so possibly a 0 next Saturday.

And he is probably in a pub somewhere in England, as pissed as a chook.  Good idea as he reaches for the nearest wine bottle
