10 gone, 4 tough rounds to go...anything can happen (and probably will). The Mustelid did not get his degree in Rocket Science, but since 10 is a good round number, let's update the Top 40 and see how you're going against the other 39; how your position has improved or not since the Halftime Report (posted after Rd 7 just 3 weeks ago!) and how your teammates, friends and opponents are doing as we approach the Business End of PJ's Super Duper Comp.

..And if you really really want to know your average weekly contribution, divide by 10 ..ie move the decimal point one place to the left !! (LOLOL).

Max 2894.60

............................And what does one do with these revelations Maximus Aurelius😏

suggestions:

  • check your score at end of Rd 7 (halftime) and see if you're getting better or worser
  • do the same with your opponent for this Saturday.
CASE STUDY 1: Max v Zac ..after 7 Rds,  ZAC was 33rd of 40, averaging $166...Max was 3rd averaging $266
Zac is now 8th of 40 with an average of $248 ...the Mustelid has struck an in-form opponent who is running RED HOT the last 3 Rounds. This is probably an evil plot by PJ with his so-called 'Random Draws' bbut he runs the show so there's nothing one can do about that!!
  • CASE STUDY 2 Craig v Heather At halftime Craig was 20th and Heather 15th; you are +2 to 18th but Heather is +7 to 8th and she hath only lost twice to your 6 losses. You're up against one of the most consistent tipsters in the business, old son. .

Interesting in an anorak sort of way Maxi.

Without wanting to denigrate the excellent Heather I feel compelled to point out that she has only had $1200 scored against her. It does rather make a positive win/loss record easier to achieve.

Just saying 😎

p'raps, Pete, but remember her personal aggregate is just outside the M7, so even if her opponents had scored much more she may well have kept that W/L record. You, on the other hand, have had a devil of a time against high scorers! It's all PJ's fault, of course ...

Pete (3/7-2842.20/3442.40)

2nd at halftime, avg $268 ..

4th now, avg $284

going great guns for The James Gang !

I blame the cat of course who is Deputy Commander of the draws. She selects the template and I just jot down the names !! 🤪

That James Gang v Hall of Fame looks the most interesting of the matches this week. Both sides just outside the qual mark so a loss with no points is gonna hurt one of these sides. Especially with the Virus boys most likely making their Joker play. Not quite a "must win" but definitely an inconvenient one to lose. A number of the personal match ups look pretty even too, except Pete's of course. Surely he's on for a win this week.....

PJ's Friday Tip

Bit late today but still time to get on. Not a raging hot fave this time but possibly each way value. Time to go hunting...

WAPITI - race 9 Gold Coast

Always tries hard, has drawn the ace marble and previous winning jock Sean Cormack aboard who also rode him to 4th in a Listed race at Doomben in November. Topweight and looks good value at the $4 currently on offer.

Evening early birds.

Time to know who and where the fortunes lie tomorrow.

Thank you for the mentions of moi. Just saying, I pick purely on which horses I believe will be good enough on the day to win and place, I don't play to any team strategy, ( don't believe Maxi's have one anyway), I don't look at opponents' pics prior to mine, (only at the end of my selections in case I'm too close), I'm not gifted nutting out the roughie, I just enjoy the challenge and the comradery. Love your comps PJ. Enough to keep my passion only just alive in the midst of the debacle taking place in our racing here. So much uncertainty and nothing but awesome Aussi racing to keep us sane.

Thank you. See you tomorrow.
