Speaking of Miss Finland, whatever happened to Stay With Me? - didn't race beyond her 3yo season. Bucharest will probably run on Friday at Newcastle looking for a three-peat on that track. Because of his potential as a stallion his career is being handled very carefully however he will have to go to town at some point. Despite a 4th in Le Romain's Randwick Guineas, Stay With Me didn't really come back as well in her Autumn 3yo campaign so was retired to stud. She was sent to Japan for a date with Deep Impact for her first foal which was a filly (now 2yo) and is in work here at the farm. Second foal is a filly (now yearling) by I Am Invincible while she foaled a Dundeel filly last week and visits him again this season

My suspicions regarding "Blind Squirrel" and his ocular abilities are now running at a red hot level, burning down my battery levels at an alarming rate. Please...somebody steal one of his nuts and "see" if he notices. A report back would be appreciated. Nut thieves beware - the Squirrel is adopting a siege mentality! 1

I have to honestly say I wouldn't be able to tell (based on appearance) a good foal from a poor one, but based on breeding that one is off to a good start. I would have to see it Trotting first.
PWJ
Friday Flutter We have Reaching a raging hot favourite in the first at Newcastle today but it had to work very hard to score last time and while the extra distance should help it's no certainty and you couldn't have it at those odds ($1.60 win FO). In fact #1 Dundee has been in the first 3 in all 3 runs beyond 1600m and could be good each way value (currently $18 Fixed odds). Some of you may remember his dam Lady Annaliese who ran 3rd to Bramble Rose and The Jewel in the NZ Oaks at Trentham. Bowman rides. Race 2 turns up an interesting runner in Cantrell which we bred and kept a share in when we sold him for $160k to trainer Paul Perry. Makes his debut here after Perry has been patient with him giving him a number of trials the most recent of which saw him improve to place 2nd beaten half a length. Currently $26/$4.40 he could be a nice place bet in a race with many chances.
