Feels like I've done a couple rounds with Mike Tyson... 😩

Firstly congratulations Styx. Awesome effort, you guys certainly walked Howie's talk. Big gap between us today - we'll be looking to put that right when we next meet. Howie, I hear your team is chipping in so that your wife can take you away for more weekends. 🙂

To my team mates. Not a great start to the comp but its only early days. Still plenty of time to bring the KAOS. 👊 At least we get the option of playing our triple joker next week.  👍

Thanks, Ray.

Scores in individual clashes were tight through most of our match, but fortunately for us lady luck swung our Styx way when it mattered. Certainly the 4-1 scoreline at the end was no reflection of how hard the battle had been.

Best of luck team Kaos for the remainder of the first round. I suspect you'll win more than you lose.

To my guys, well done for a very solid first-up hitout, with particular mention of Smiler's man-of-the-match score that earned him a place on PJ's 'Best Scores' list; and Our Maizcay second= on PJ's 'Most Winners' list with 6.
Very well done, team. Thanks also, Our Maizcay, for checking for scratchings and non-appearances for the team when the Captain shot off on holiday in the very first round ! 😊

Next week is a possible Triple Joker play against the one team positioned higher than us - team Seagulls.
Seagulls have some very wily campaigners amongst them, so it will be no easy decision to make. Can't see the Reapers ever getting above us on the scoreboard, they're 7th and drifting, so they most likely aren't a team we're ever gonna be factoring into a Triple Joker play equation. Clearly they are in a race to the bottom for the wooden spoon, and I don't see any amongst us denying them that opportunity. 😊

Just a heads-up. Every round in the comp will be a Saturday with one exception. The weekend of March 9-10 will see a double-header with Ellerslie (Auckland Cup) and Flemington/Randwick on Saturday and Gore/Canberra on Sunday. This is to ensure the final day of the comp is on the Final Day of the Sydney Carnival.

So it will be Round 9 on March 9 and Round 10 on March 10

Was Max prostrate on his back late in the day also ?? May send him a complimentary case of Moet then next Saturday morning for a repeat performance !

Cheers LB

despatch it without delay

c/o Auckland Thoroughbred Racing
      Ellerslie, Jafaland NooZillan

I'll pick it up later in the week.
Actually, Max was doing one of these two things: (see if you can pick it correctly):

  • drinking Moet in The Crying Room having earned no dollars at all at all (but a hairlip from $436 with Apostrophe BB) OR
  • rescuing a good mate who'd taken ill with rather sinister symptoms and thus was escorted by Max to A&E.

Everything Max says and plays on here suggests no 1, but my bet would be the second option

Hope your mate is/was okay Max.

thanks Maria...couldve been having a heart attack; he's still under observation in hospital with a major bacterial infection, awaiting results of CT Ultrasound on his ticker! Appears to be 'on the mend' as the drugs kick in to deal with the infection.
