the Rex vs LB HTH looks like the decider ..

Rex is going great guns to take it out Max.

I've produced Just 'Second-Rate' work at the factory today unfortunately with

Nereus2nd, Grail SeekerBB2nd,Canhorec2nd, Colarado Silver2nd, Excelludus2nd, Tintookie BB2nd  so looks like a can't get the Factory over the Line . and Built the only one getting there first. so back to hard labour 😂 to hone up for next week.

Well done Sharne and Magic, stole it off us in the last, well done.  I don't think we really deserved a win today, so justice in the end.  Long way to go

Thanks as always PJ, you're getting a lot better at all this, how you do all the combos each time defies belief

It's OverTime at the Factory  !  I'm charging you 'double rates' Max ,and 'time and half 'coming from last at the death.. to get the Job Completed at the Factory. 🤣

Thanks for the Match old mate Rex 🏇. I see you had the 2nd horse in the last race beaten in the photo ... a funny day .

Factory CEO Max is concerned about your lack of confidence prior to the last, LB ...and has therefore enrolled you on a Personal Development course at Company expense (You'll have to take your own lunch, though).

cap'n Max is turning a blind eye to your very late arrival to the premises today but was MOST IMPRESSED by the TALENT AND QUALITY PRODUCTION in the final hour. More of that next week and you may get a Bubbly Bonus.

ROUND 2 - Saturday January 20

Comp Race 10 - Rosehill R10

1st - 10 Bootscooter W-$10.20

2nd - 9 Pioneer Lass Q-$30.40

Scr: 6,8

5 STYX*** (2nd)

$2265.00

5 (x 3 Triple Joker play) equals 15 points

0 SEAGULLS (1st)

$861.60

0 points

Everyone missed in the last so Styx made maximum use of their Triple Joker play with a huge score spearheaded by a big score from man of the Match Gordy - we are all chasing you guys now for the other 3 finals berths. Steve P was Seagulls MVP bagging 6 winners (as did Smiler) as the Gulls live to fight another day despite losing the lead on the table.

324 Our Maizcay

106 Graeme

466.80 Smiler

263 Steve P

870 Gordy

133 Rees

415.60 Robert

222.60 Maurice

188.80 Howie

137 Pete

2 OLD MATE* (4th)

$1338.00

2 (x 2 Joker play) equals 4 points

3 MAX FACTORY (5th)

$884.00

2 points

Bootscooter did the trick for Lightning Blue in the last to get Max Factory across the line for their first win in the comp as he defeated Rex by $27. Old Mate - who all missed in the last - took a point each for a team profit and a superior aggregate, turning into 4 points with their Joker play so we did not come away empty-handed. Gee edged Max for Factory MVP honours while Black Caviar was a dominant Man of the Match for Old Mate with Jack also scoring well. Well done Max - too good for me once again. heavy lies the curse 😟

341.20 Jack

36 Rob

622 Black Caviar

53 Barb

147 Richie

344 Gee

116.80 PJ

313 Max

111 Rex

138 Lightning Blue

2 KAOS*** (8th)

$932.20

1 (x 3 Triple Joker play) equals 3 points

3 SHOWTIME (3rd)

$907.60

2 points

Pioneer Lass almost pulled off a late win for Zig and Kaos in the last but had to bow down to the Scone winner who no one selected. So Showtime held on for another win with Punter Pete Man of the Match once again. Midnight caller edged Ray for the MVP ribbon for Kaos who came away with a point for a superior aggregate (but not by much) which converts to 3 with their Triple Joker play, a better outcome than a one point deduction.

252.80 Midnight Caller

178.40 Craig

196.60 Sasha

119 Harewood

237 Ray

331.20 Punter Pete

195.80 Stevie N

196 Maria

50 Ziggy

83 Blind Squirrel

3 MAGIC* (6th)

$1062.60

2 (x 2 Joker play) equals 4 points

2 REAPERS (7th)

$895.80

0 points

The big upset of the day came in the last where Jammo and Anita got up to win their HTHs against Hesi and Tassie respectively as the local (for us) hero Booterscooter got Magic home for the win and take advantage of their Joker play. Funny because we have called Jammo Booterscooter for some years when he is being a nuisance around the kitchen ! The Reapers had led since the Wellington Cup and looked to be in control with Ian even bagging a BB in the last to take Man of the Match honours but it was a shock late defeat that eventuated. Heather was MVP for the winners - hope you had a good day in the Hutt Valley young lady.

170.60 Sharne

172 Tonka

228.60 Anita

151 Tassie Tiger

222 Pam

491.80 Ian

325.40 Heather

14 Secret Squirrel

116 Jamison

67 Hesi

TABLE AFTER ROUND 2

1st 18 points Styx^ $3357.20

2nd 6 points Old Mate* $2034.60

3rd 4 points Showtime $1968.40

4th 4 points Magic* $1715.60

5th 3 points Seagulls $2013.00

6th 3 points Kaos^ $1561.00

7th 2 points Max Factory $1803.40

8th 0 points Reapers $1526.40

* Joker play

^ Triple Joker play

The big Triple Joker win for Styx vaults then into a huge 12 point lead with their victims the Seagulls falling 4 places to 5th. Old Mate lost but bonus points from their Joker play moves them up two spots to 2nd with Showtime winning to hold station in 3rd. Magic came with a late great winning run to gain two places up to 4th aided by a Joker play while Kaos also gained two places thanks to a point tripled (from a better aggregate) from their Joker play. Max Factory won but lost two places (!!) and the Reapers slump to the cellar in defeat.

A great contest KAOS...  I don't think I've ever valued 20 cents so much! 🙂    Cheers to you Stevie 🥂

Well done MC and Ray with some decent totals on a tricky day and a salute to Pete as man of the match! 🙂

Good job you had some of those nuts left over from winter to bolster you in the finishing stages BS 🙂

One of my best ever days in a PJ Comp . . . even though I was a long way behind the other 4 members in the Styx team ! 😀
Grand effort today from my "teamies" from barrier-jump with The Odyssey right through to Dubai Diva and beyond.
Special applause for me ole Blues mate Gordy with a staggering $870 . . .and a special mention too of Our Maizcay who was the driving force behind the plan to play our Triple Joker today, a well-presented case that was compelling to the team. Thanks, OM ! 🙂
Our commiserations to a very plucky Seagulls team - you were the ones on the receiving end but it could have been any team on a day when everything just went right for us ... you were just the team in the wrong place at the wrong time. Best of luck for your future matchups  . . . you've got a fine team.
Today we'll savour the moment and enjoy the 15 points attained . . . as it would be a stretch for us to think we'll reach those heady heights again any time soon.
But we'll be trying ! 😀
Many thanks, PJ, for all your effort and expertise. Top class, as always. 👏👏
