Not looking good for Five-Oh this week.  Outmatched on aggregate in all five individual match-ups.  Pretty obvious to see why the Maximillions will be playing their Joker.

Five-Oh might have to add an extra Zoom call into the schedule this week.  What can we pull out of the playbook this week?  Common selections?  Post early to throw them off?  Perhaps a roughie day with the free for all on performance enhancing substances?

Perhaps we'll just take this one easy and get our rotation in order for the play-offs.

Good thing TC has a trial special at Doomben!!

Nice bit of psychology there John.

LOL. Yep, the Maxis are really, really worried. So much so that cap'n Max has given all 4 of his awesome teammates an ALL EXPENSES PAID HOLIDAY WEEKEND. They can post picks (or not) as they see fit, selecting saddlecloth numbers using any system they find appealing (eg think of a number, multiply by 3, divide by 6, take away the barrier draw you first thought of, etc etc) ...

the one and only Golden Rule is ...no email or video conferences, conventions, summit meetings, group chats, team bonding sessions, Facebook Live/Messenger/Skype-type comminglings ...just TRUST YOUR OWN JUDGMENT with your picks and accept the consequences, good bad or indifferent...

Net result? Doesn't really matter ...could be a great week to have a break, have a Kit-Kat ...

We discussed the James Gang on our latest team conference.  John told us there's a guy batting 0.091 on that team, so whoever draws him is pretty much a lock and then you only need to win 2 of the other 4 match-ups 😊

Complacency will get you beat Virgil

Unfortunate does even begin to describe Alan's stats.

tis one of the beautiful things about PJ's comps ...the fact that your individual performance is effective or not relative to your H2H opponent on the day ...as illustrated when you compare Hesi's 1/10 record with a player who has amassed just one dollar more in 11 Rounds (330 'bets')

Graeme (7/4-2511.00/2416.80)

But don't feel too sorry just yet for poor Hesi ...the business end is approaching and revenge could be sweet IF ...

MUSTELID MEDIA RELEASE

The following Table of Riveting Information (TRI) has been released to the unsuspecting public by Mustelid Maths Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the global giant Mustelid Lies, Lies and Damn Statistics Inc* (MLLDS Inc).

It reveals revealing revelations of revelatory performances in PJ's Super Duper Comp 2020 by the Top 17 Players (of 40) as at the end of Round 11.

Company spokesperson Mustelid Maximus says only the current top 17 players have been "analysed to death" because there are "other more important things to do in this world, such as feeding my starving family, reading bedtime to stories (to Mrs W), and shopping for Moet on special."

He asserted it is "sheer coincidence" that all 5 of his own Maximillions team happen to have "made the cut" and welcomes any additional analysis of the Comp from any other "equally reputable" source.

"In the meantime, any Rocket Scientist with half a working brain will understand the true meaning of these Riveting Stats. With only three Rounds of Competition left, it is almost certain that the Most Magnificent of the Magnificent will come from the Top 17 herewith. But who among the players in the Excel Spreadsheet file (attached) will finish strongest and hardest?"

ENDS

You should probably refer to your list as the 17 highest aggregates, rather than the "Top 17 Players".

The way I've gone in this comp I personally wouldn't get anywhere near a top 17 list no matter how you cut it, but you have at least 5 players on your list with losing H2H records and one of them has won 1 from 11 matches.  That wouldn't be considered "top" in most competitions.

17 is an interesting number to pick - just enough to fit all of the Maxis plus one on the list!?

Amendment to explanation of afore-posted Table of Riveting Information (TRI):

"It reveals revealing revelations of revelatory performances in PJ's Super Duper Comp 2020 by the Top 17 Players (of 40) as at the end of Round 11 ...based on individual aggregates. Perhaps we could call it The Magnificent 17."

NOTE:The author, Mustelid Maximus, duly notes however that PJ's weekly update of highest individual aggregates known as 'The Magnificent Seven' offers no such explanation - because no such explanation is required. It is simply there because some people may find it interesting and/or entertaining and/or insightful about a past or upcoming opponent.

PJ's Friday Special(s)

Casino - lovely little town in the Northern Rivers of NSW straddling the Bruxner Highway.

Race 7 #6 Exclusive - favourite distance and former winning jockey aboard and by our new stallion Written Tycoon. Surprisingly good odds at $4.80 at present in the Beef Week Cup (love it!)

Race 6 #5 Viking Raid - bit of an each way prospect. Ran them off their feet at Ballina late last year and could repeat here with no rise in class. Great money at $9.50 at present.

No signs of Robert, so I’ve sent him a PM, just checking in to make sure he is doing OK

I can get Junior Mac to post a spare set of selections for the two following weeks if Robert doesn’t show this weekend
