Yeah but leaving Wgtn as an 18 yr old and going to Sydney was like leaving a morgue with flashing lights .. Sydney and especially Manly where I lived was a dangerous place if you weren't careful. Carmen was on the same flight probably.😆

Was there late 72 onwards. Used to frequent the Whiskey A Go Go up at the cross along with various beer halls, all pretty sophisticated establishments. The Whiskey had topless dancers upstairs and topless waitresses downstairs.Sydney opened up when Wgtn was closing down., there was a lot to fill in yr nights with. Maybe we should start a story forum for us older folk 🙂, I am sure some of them would illicit some belly laughs . I can imagine a very diverse /eclectic bunch on here. Max would apply to be accepted as a Guest poster, GD, on account of his perpetual youth...far too young to be there as one of the 'older folk' ...still, I recall heading down the Dixon St Steps at 4:30am having pulled an 'all-nighter' at Vic House to get an essay in on time (!!), and scurrying back from the Southern Cross Bakery in Manners St (?) with half a dozen fresh-baked cream buns - real cream and a dollop of raspberry jam on top! Heavenly! MM
