Thanks to all for your compliments and banter ...... commiserations to the Maxisquillions and to my opponent Rob who just happened to catch me on a lucky day for my selections ...... and i also have been in his position at times when u do get swallowed up by a result like that.

Thanks to my teammates who without winning their matches we would not have amassed the points at the end of the day .... it is a team game and i try just as hard as any team player in 'ALL TEAMS' to do my best.

Thanks again PJ for your hard work.😊

See you next week REES !!!!

Send me yr picks for nxt week BS. Im at the point of giving up. I have heard of dry patches but this is becoming embarrassing, fun comp or not.

Not whinging as I am a gracious loser (to everyone) apparently.

Well done PJ and Blackbookers, Pumped shall have their day in the Sun with some poor hapless opponent . Next week.

And Rex ,I cannot remember a bigger score in all the time I have been playing in various sites. Brilliant mate.

12 weeks of qualifying to go, GD.. rest easy, mate!

Spare a thought for our Maxisquillionaire ROB.

Behind in his match by $126 after 4 races he Labels Five Princes a BB at $14-1 to take a decent lead over his mate Rex, then adds two more at good odds (Diamond Effort at 7-1 and Immortal Love at 9-1). Rob leads Sir G $484 to $126.

Next thing you know Sir G's a squillionaire in Extremely Good Health and Rob is adrift by $1100 with just two races to go.

Yes folks, for all of us playing this SuperDuper Comp courtesy of PJ, Hesi and Pete, the dream can turn into reality (or a nightmare!)

Rest easy, Rob.. plenty of time to extract some revenge!

MM

PJ's foal arrived 3.00am Monday morning. Here it is at 9 hours old with my daughter Ceilidh.

This is Miss Hostie's latest product . He will grow into a leggy, attractive colt. Very happy outcome.

Miss Hostie is a daughter of Filante (by Star Way from the handy Sir Tristram mare Eau d'Etoile) who won the Epsom at Randwick in track record time 25 years ago in addition to the Gr1 Yalumba Stakes at Caulfield. Filante was twice second in the W.S. Cox Plate (to Saintly and Dane Ripper).

Miss Hostie's dam is the very smart former juvenile Fickle Hostess (by Lunchtime) whom Jack Denham trained to win 3 juvenile events in Sydney including the Gr2 Magic Night Stakes before a bold run for 4th in the Golden Slipper won by NZ-bred Courtza, owned by Nick Columb.

Miss Hostie's granddam was the brilliant Vain filly Vaindarra who beat all but Denham stablemate and future Champion Sire Marscay in the 1982 Golden Slipper with the great Grosvenor trailing her home in 3rd. Vaindarra had won 5 juvenile events in 6 starts prior to the Slipper including The Silver Slipper (Gr2), the Reisling Slipper Trial (Gr3) and the Gimcrack (Gr3) back in September !

Showtime is of course a multiple Group-winning son of Snitzel, standing alongside his sire here at Arrowfield.

Nice dam line Peter.

I remember Filante's Epsom win.  Did he have much success as a sire?

He was a modest sire John, but wasn't afforded a great opportunity. Did leave 8 stakeswinners including Gr1 winner Macedon Lady (Thousand Guineas). Filante's 2nd dam was by a modest (actually really poor) American-bred stallion - Prince Bright - who stood alongside Copenhagen II in North Taranaki. As a kid I used to help muck out his box ! Filante has done better as a broodmare sire leaving 4 Group winners so far - Manawanui (Gr1 Golden Rose), Hollywoodboulevard, Danesiri, Streetcar Magic.
