By my humble calculations I think the turbo's have kept their noses in front to down the Maggies.

Jase you smashed the Squirrel today - well played fella! Commiserations Maggies as you practically led from go to whoa but were nabbed late (Just like my firking massive win multi finishing on Deep Beauty in the last at Te Rapa aaaarrggh)

Unfortunately Ray we were the bunnies today but Gaz, Stevie P and Zig stepped up and carried us home - thanks fellas. Well played to all and looking forward to a semifinal showdown next week once PJ has settled the dust!

Thanks to the Highlanders for their tussle today. The Chiefs once again 'powering up' at the the Top of the ladder, and congrats to my Team-mates King Gee Zabeel and Double R Robert with winning shares in beautiful race-horses today !!

Not all is lost Hesi , with your team already a best seller in print to remember some better days/comps for the Highlanders 15030421_91rrHS7k8oL._AC._SR360460.jpg.1d2f5152c2a15c71e208e3b5b91d6aae.jpg

Round 7 - Sat Oct 22

Race 10 - The Valley R9

1st -10 Anamoe W-$2.50

2nd - 2 I'm Thunderstruck Q-$11.20

Scr: nil

0 Ferdies* (3rd)

$1198.40

0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points

5 Swamp Foxes (4th)

$2058.40

5 points

The Swamp Foxes have made the finals with a dominant performance capped by capturing the final bonus points in the last where Maria's quinella took her past Maurice. Only Punter Pete - too good for me today buddy - missed the winning fave, while Rees, Jamison, Zac, Heather and Tom doubled up with BBs. Captain Maria was Match Star while her unlucky opponent Maurice was 'Naki MVP.
116 Tom

431.20 Jamison

480.40 Maurice

500.40 Maria

173.40 Heather

312 Rees

264.80 Zac

403.40 Our Maizcay

164 PJ

411.40 Punter Pete

3 Chiefs* (1st)

$995.80

2 (x 2 Joker play) = 4 points

2 Highlanders* (8th)

$1125.00

1 (x 2 Joker play) = 2 points

Zaaki tried hard for the Otago boys but wasn't good enough and the quinella was the wrong way around for Rex so the Chiefs held on to secure the Minor Premiership and complete a successful Joker play, with Robert (bagging a BB) and Jack earning their final dollars. Rex (with a BB quinella) and Hesi (with a BB) scored the final wins for The Highlanders whose dream didn't come true but they did get a point (doubled with their Joker play) for a higher aggregate. Hesi was Otago MVP while Captain Jack was an impressive Man of the Match.

348 Robert

168 Rob

58 Lightning Blue

330.60 Hesi

414.20 Jack

253.80 Rex

148.60 Tassie Tiger

144.60 Midnight Caller

27 Gee

228 Craig

2 Magpies (7th)

$1318.80

1 point

3 Turbos (2nd)

$1264.80

2 points

El Bodegon tried hard but couldn't pull it off for the Magpies so the Turbos held on to cement their Finals berth. Only Ziggy and Ray missed the champ in the last while Steve, Gary & Jase bagged BBs, Secret Squirrel snagged the quinella with Blind Squirrel bagging a beaut BB quinella. Jason was Man of the Match while Steve P was Manawatu MVP. The Magpies took a bonus point for a higher aggregate and just missed out on a team profit.

399.20 Jason

160.80 Blind Squirrel

255 Ian

166.60 Ray

197.20 Stevie N

295.80 Gary

229 Richie

364.40 Steve P

238.40 Secret Squirrel

277.20 Ziggy

3 Kauri Kats (5th)

$1222.20

2 points

2 Blues (6th)

$1092.40

0 points

Neither of the Blues' chances got into it so the Kats held on and booked a Finals berth in a close fought match in which no bonus points were earned. Sharne and Kauri Kats' MVP Pam bagged BBs in the last while Pete (also with a BB), Smiler and Man of the Match Gordy got the final collects for The Blues.

301 Graeme

334.20 Gordy

261.40 Max

149 Smiler

309.20 Sharne

158.60 Moose

323.60 Pam

182 Roland

268.60 Pete

Tis the morning after the fab days racing the day before and the morning after the BlackCaps gave the bleedin' Ozzies some overdue misery; unfortunately it's bound to wake the convicts up from their smug complacent arrogant slumber just in time to win the bloody tournament. But Max is ONE HAPPY MUSTELID after that Demolition for the Ages...when Daryl Mitchell returns from injury there'll be no place for ...someone (Chapman? Sodhi? Boot cap'n Williamson into touch? LOL)

But Maxi doth digress. Back to the nags.

  • Cheers, Blues ...tight match as expected. Well done teamies, mostly thanks to Elizabeth Rose ... KKs did just enough to get over the line and book a ticket to the Semis but getting to The Big Dance will be tough on Derby Day - the best day's racing in Australasia. Plenty of Kiwis to follow at the Cup carnival, so ...LOOK OUT cos the Mustelid is packing the suitcase and preparing to rock old Melbourne Town.
