PWJ
Round 4 - Saturday Feb 4 Comp Race 10 - Randwick R101st - 2 Munitions W-$7.90 2nd - 7 Scarimony Q-$12.80 Scr: 1,3,6,9,10,14,15,17 4 REAPERS (1st) $875.60 3 points 1 MAX FACTORY (7th) $676.00 0 points Pokerjack ran on late but was never going to turn the match around for Max Factory so not only did the Reapers hold on to win but Hesi snagged a BB quinella in the last to pull ahead of Pam and extend the Reapers' margin to 4-1 for a bonus point. Rob - the only Factory worker to win their HTH - was Man of the Match while Hesi's late burst earned him MVP hounours for the victors 45.20 Allovertheform 0 Jen 122 Tom 426 Rob 278.20 Hesi 83.20 Pam 194 Moose 98 Max 236.20 Tassie Tiger 86.80 Harewood 4 DREAM TEAM (5th) $687.00 3 points 1 UNION JACKS* (3rd) $368.00 0 (x 2 Joker play) = 0 points Despite having the 1st and 3rd faves to turn the match around, the Joker-playing Union jacks came up short by a nose and a failed protest from no less than J Mcdonald - the barest of margins so commiserations to a valiant Union jack outfit. Howie and Ian found the final winner as the Jacks all missed. The Dream Team took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin with Ian Man of the Match in a low-scoring affair. Geoff edged Punter Pete for Union Jack MVP honours 78 Stevie N 49 Jack 49 PJ 114 Punter Pete 212 Howie 90.60 Tonkatime 116 Ziggy 114.40 Geoff 232 Ian 0 Gee 2 COYOTES (4th) $963.20 0 points 3 DESPERADOS (6th) $1543.60 3 points Bye: RAMONES (8th) $808.00 0 points None of the Coyotes' last-ditch hopes raised their heads so the Desperados held on scoring a bonus point earned earlier for a team profit. Secret Squirrel snag a quinella in the last for the victors while replies from Graeme (also with a quinella) and Rees (with a BB) pushed the Coyotes aggregate past that of The Ramones who all missed in the last, denying them a point. Man of the Max was Rex - no doubt on the good medication again - while Graeme was Coyote MVP. The Believers unfortunately took nothing home from their Triple Joker play and are deducted a point as a result. PWJ
Table after Round 4 Despite The Reapers continuing on their winning way today, they slip back to 2nd overtaken by Roland's Kelly's Heroes as the result of a successful Joker play. The Dream Team were also winners today and climb two places to 3rd with their victims - The Union Jacks - slipping a place to 4th. The Desperados won and advanced a place while their victims - The Coyotes - lost two spots. Max Factory and the Ramones failed to score a point and remain in the lower depths of the table while The Believers one point deduction takes them into the tunnel under the cellar. Hesi
It paid to have a name starting with R today, even the silent W one, pretty much all the usual suspects except for Gee, never fails to amaze Well done team, we can but win. Sorry Maxi to beat you guys after the polite gesture. Thanks PJ for another fine effort today, as I said, you really never miss a beat, and that is what makes your comps so good. How you get all those permutations done for the next race is beyond all of us. Halfway through this comp, and the biggest issue for the Reapers, is how do we get to play our triple joker, a lot of tactics involved. We can't play it next week, so that leaves 3 weeks???

Inciting graft and corruption is not to be encouraged, PJ, shame upon your Legendary Scorer head. P'raps you will use this opportunity to publish the draw for the remaining rounds of the first half ...so Max can plot a course to leap from the comfort of Max Factory's cellar (aka 'Moet Mansion') to the giddy heights of the penthouse.
