To win:

Coyotes need-

Mileva to win for Maria

OR

a Chain of Lightning-Lofty Strike quinella in that order for Craig (must cumulatively collect less than $59 or Zig will beat Rees and cancel it out)

Reapers need-

King of Sparta to win for Antz

OR

I Am Me to win for Tassie (and possibly Antz 4-1 win - but needs to pay $6.10+ for that)

OR

an Asfoora-Roch 'n' Horse quinella in that order for Hesi

OR

Lofty Strike to win for Tassie Tiger

Believers need-

Lofty Strike or Star Patrol to win for Smiler

OR

Shooting For Gold to win for Lightning Blue

OR

King of Sparta or I Am me to win for Trotslover

Desperados need-

Asfoora to win for Maurice and Secret Squirrel (4-1 win)

OR

Lofty Strike to win for Maurice & Sharne (4-1 win)

OR

Roch 'n' Horse to win for Sharne

no truth to the rumour that the Max Factory motto is "Treat em mean and keep 'em keen." Max needs as many tabletop dancers as he can find (just to keep Mrs W on her toes!)

I think a Chain of Lightning-Mileva quinella in that order could win it for Maria and the Coyotes but Chain of Lightning has to pay less than $5.90

Lofty Strike tried hard for the Reapers but couldn't round it off so the Union Jacks held on to defeat the table leaders. The Reapers all missed in the last with only Tonka finding the Oakleigh winner with a BB to secure the Man of the Match crown. Tom edged Tassie for Reapers' MVP honours. Wrinkles was the only member of Kelly's Heroes to find the final winner but they still finished 3rd on aggregate with Gordy their MVP. No bonus points were earned

2 COYOTES*** (5th)

$855.20

0 (x 3 Triple Joker play) = -1 point

The Coyotes main chance to win it - Mileva - never yelped so the Dream Team held on despite a strong push from the Coyotes over the Oz leg. The Coyotes Triple Joker play which looked likely to bear fruit with two races to go ended up a blank and they suffer the standard deduction as a result. No bonus points were earned and no one found the final winner. Howie, with 7 winners including 4 quinellas, was Man of the Match while Rees - who won the family feud - was Coyotes' MVP. Thanks Ray for the HTH, you didn't even need to be at your best to beat me today 🙁

2 DESPERADOS (4th)

$1133.40

1 point

The Desperados were dead unlucky as their two chances for a 4-1 win ran 2nd/3rd so the Max Factory enjoyed a successful Joker play although they all missed in the last where Rex bagged a BB to head off The Factory MVP - Max - for Man of the Match honours. The Desperados at least took a bonus point for a superior aggregate.

4 RAMONES (7th)

$1361.40

4 points

The Believers had 5 chances to turn it around in the last and Lofty Strike came close but just fell short so the Ramones not only held on but took a bonus point with Mardy, Steve and Sarah all bagging BBs on the Queensland visitor in the last to secure a team profit. They also secured a bonus point for a 4-1 margin when Mardy bolted past Blind Squirrel at the deathy. Fine effort ! Trotslover was MVP for The Believers who all missed in the last while Steve P was Man of the Match.

Table after Round 7

Defeat for The Reapers today saw their lead cut from 5 points to 3 as The winning Dream team close in on them. Despite drawing a blank Kelly's Heroes remain 3rd with the overall best aggregate while despite losing The Desperados remin 4th. Victory for the Union Jacks saw them gain a place at the expense of the Coyotes who suffered the 1 point deduction from the failed Joker x 3 play. The Ramones won impressively but remain 7th while Max Factory got out of the cellar thanks to a successful Joker play, their abode taken by the Believers who seriously need a change of luck

Just two rounds remain in the first half of the comp with 3 regular Jokers and two Triple Jokers yet to be played (if they can).

1st 21 Reapers# $7895.20

2nd 18 Dream Team# $7907.20

Thanks Steve for a stirring match. Thought I was gone early on. About time I got one up , very enjoyable.

And well done Howie ,with 7 winners, and a hard fought win , much to our chagrin, playing a Triple. :classic_blink:

Thanks PJ , these comps are a lot of fun, even though the male competitive spirit comes out in some of us. ( not to mention our Female competitor's) lest I be chastised. 👍
