ROUND 12 DRAW - Sat Mar 23

We kick off with 3 races at the wide open spaces of Riccarton before ducking up to Gate Pa (where rain is forecast for Saturday)  for the Japan Trophy and then back to Christchurch for their feature. We board the plane for Sydney where we have 4 Rosehill Gr1 races with superb fields interspersed by Imperatriz trying to repel all challengers at The Valley in the Gr1 William Reid. The Golden Slipper is the penultimate event with a ridiculously open field in the Galaxy to bring this round to a close.

Table-toppers Kaos are the target for Showtime inn the big match of the day. Kaos played their Triple Joker against the showbiz crew last time and came unstuck with Showtime running out narrow winners. Will Maria and crew try their hand at a Triple Joker ??? Blind Squirrel and Ziggy are a Serendipitous match-up but by the end of the day someone (or both) may lose that status. Ziggy, Paul & Craig face the same opponents who took them down last time so they will be out for revenge.

Big guns Styx destroyed the Seagulls 5-zip in Round 2 but those birds have sharpened their beaks since then and may prove a much different proposition this time around. Can Magnificent Seven head honcho Smiler inflict more pain on Rees ? Gordy is taken on by Pete in a juicy Blues brothers match-up.

Max Factory founds some beaut form last week and they take on Old Mate this week who they defeated in the final stride in Round 2 (LB squeezing past Rex). Will Old Mate be tempted to risk that Regular Joker again ? Does lightning strike twice ?

Finally, 4 points and 3 places separate Magic and The Reapers but i am expecting a close one. Last time they met the Reapers were 4-1 up going into the last before they were spectacularly undone by some spell or other at the death. Secret Squirrel will be looking to avoid another hiding from Heather for sure. This could be a double-header Joker match I am thinking.

Remember you must have at least 6 different picks (of 20) for those who post after their opponent

Please post on time. Let's have some fun and note the closing time...

Close off at 12.20pm (NZ time)

Team Styx with 3 geniuses (Smiler, Gordy, Our Maizcay) in 'The Magnificent Seven' !
I guess there will be some who will say that, on that basis, team Styx should be leading. 🙂
Look . . . this is a long game . . . and we don't want to do anything rash like hitting the front too soon and then be run down in the straight.
So Robert and I are playing our part to perfection. Timing is everything ! 😁

Watch out. The Seagulls are out for revenge after what you did to us in Round 1.

Coming into form nicely with a well timed run at the finals. Be afraid.

Well, at least I made one list !
Would have preferred it to have been 'The Magnificent Seven" list . . .but hey, better than being slapped around the face with a wet fish ! ☺️
Please don't do anything rogue this coming Saturday, Maurice, to see me marched off this Serendipitous list. 😁

We're always respecting the Seagulls, Pete !
No plans for us to go to the Double Joker this Saturday. We believe we have a better chance of reaping success if we wait for another day.
See ya Saturday, Pete.
As a mark of respect to you, we're launching Magnificent Gordy of the Magnificent Seven against you, Pete.
You'll need to be right on your game, but I think you already know that. 🙂

It would seem like lunacy to play our triple joker against the 2nd top team, and lamplighter for much of the comp and deservedly so.  BUT, we actually beat you in the first round, so maybe not such a crazy idea

Well the Reapers were out-reaped last week on the score-board mate > 5 zip, by the tough Blue Collar workers  maybe the Reapers should stay behind the PJ red Finals Line like the factory does 😂, .... to try for some redemption/revenge in the PJ Presidents Cup ? 💰😎

There is no better illustration of the randomness of this comp than this upcoming HTH where Howie with 8 wins from 11 faces poor Maurice who has over $400 better aggregate but has managed to win half the number of matches as Captain Howie !

Am expecting a much tougher battle with the Seagulls than the last time we played them.
They come in to this match on the back of an excellent win last Saturday, and will be very hard to head off this time around.
Wishing good luck to my opponent, long-time PJ Comp stalwart Maurice, also a member of the 10/10 club. I'll need plenty of luck in order to get ahead of Maurice, that's for sure.
I couldn't take Imperatriz @ $1.65. I hope she wins, but I can't take her at that price.

Best of luck to my Styx "teamies" Gordy, Smiler, Our Maizcay, and Robert. 🙂 What a power line-up that is !  The 'Magnificent Seven' list is confirmation of that.

Many thanks for this very fine comp, PJ, immaculately run as always. 👏
