Maximus
things are looking ominous for the Poms as we start Day 2. I'm not sure Stokes is coping too well with the heavy burden on him for bowling, either, and apart from occasional moments of excellent deliveries, the bowling attack looks moderate at best. Prediction" Aus have afield day today and part of tomorrow, declare at 500+ and Series s a goneburger by lunchtime on the 4th day latest. Root will be gone as captain, prob at his own request. He is their only player who can hold his head high so far in this series (depite the pathetic shot that got him out yesterday!). MM

Maximus
yep Oz scored only half of Maxi's predicted 500+ in their first dig and won a full day earlier than predicted! Woeful woeful Pomeranians.
Steve P
Aus' 106 for 1, so depressing!!!
brown fox
I'm bored with such a lop-sided contest.Such a shame.

mardigras
Well they were at 1-36, then at 2-36, then 3-36. Now 4-36. Near on 9 maidens in a row and 3 wickets.

Hesi
Aus to win are blowing out on the TAB, but I think rain is expected over Sat/Sun, so probably a draw
Hesi
Something is not right in that England team. They have the talent, as much as Aus, but it is not coming through. Broad dropped for the 3rd test, then comes through with a 5 for when re-instated
Steve P
And we have avoided the follow on, although it rarely gets enforced these days. Not sure where you see the talent? White ball perhaps, can't see much Test Match talent apart from Root and Stokes.
Dancing Show
They don't seem to have any focus and I think their minds are back in the UK. They're not even watching the ball right to the bat, you can see them raise their eyes to where they're going to hit it, or hoping to hit it, before they even connect, as if they just want to get it over with.

Anderson and Broad are the best opening combo in world cricket, 3rd and 6th on the all time wickets taken list Bairstow and Buttler have the talent to be test batsmen, not just white ball Only issue is the opening pair

craigos1
What a great days Cricket that turned out to be. Started out with OMG this is going to be pathetic and finishes with one of the most gutty (is that a word) centuries you'll ever see. J Bairstow has never been one of my favourite cricketers but boy the gutz he showed today after taken a nasty blow to the thumb .................... well done son. Just to throw something out from leftfield why don't England declare overnight ................. the pitch is throwing the odd ball from leftfield ................ staying low or going through the pitch ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, perhaps a chance to do something different. Hesi
Aus at 3.40 seems like a good bet, if it wasn't for the question marks over rain Let's say Aus end up with a 100 lead if Bairstow can bat on a bit. That leaves the rest of tomorrow for Aus to knock up 200 runs, with very little pressure. Leaves England 300 to get on the last day, which is huge pressure, which they have shown they cannot handle. Aus win, but a good bet is open to the vagaries of the weather
Hesi
2.50 seems okay, hard to read that Sydney weather. Maybe wait till England put on another 20-30 runs, might get to 3.00, then watch the wickets start to tumble. England can't win, nor will they try
Hesi
55 overs of play left, that is a wicket every 8 overs for Aus to win, 50/50 I reckon
Hesi
A draw, but basically a moral victory for England Give yourself an uppercut Cummins for not showing your opposition respect, and batting on too long last night, to allow Khawaja to reach his ton, even then not calling them in for another 20-30 min. I note the biased Aussie commentators, never one word about this misjudgment

I note the biased Aussie commentators, never one word about this misjudgment Hahaha , think Pat Cummins will be cutting party cake tonight, no upper cut needed. The whole idea is give the opposition No chance of victory, would be silly to even give them a sniff. BEST is just give them a chance of draw>>> by wriggling and squirming through to stumps. An extra session of bowling at them yesterday would of obviously seen an Aussie victory , But where's the Fun in that ? bit of torture to add to their injuries today . makes for a Good draw ! hahahaha well done to Cummins, another great performance. Is going to have a great strike rate as Captain.
Hesi
The bigger prize, being a series whitewash, that from the demeanour of the Aus players, they dearly wanted. There will be rumblings amongst the hierarchy about the delayed declaration, that in retrospect, cost them the win. Anderson and Broad, could not have lasted another 30 minutes
mardigras
I doubt Cummins made the decision unilaterally. You can't look back in hindsight to say what should have happened. They had ample opportunity to get the wickets. (and I had a decent bet on Aus to win at 3.65).
